2、FIN, HEAT SHRINKABLE, DUAL WALL, WSS-M99D56-A4 ADHESIVELY LINED, SEMI-RIGID, FLAME RETARDANT 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a selectively cross-linked dual wall polyolefin tubing whose diameter shall reduce to a predetermined size upon application of heat in excess of 135 C.
3、The tubing shall be fabricated from a thermally stabilized, modified polyolefin composition, and shall be lined with a thermoplastic adhesive. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used to seal electrical harness wire splices or electrical components such as fuse-lin
4、ks, diodes and resistors. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 FORMED PARTS The tubing shall be fabricated from thermally stabilized,
5、modified polyolefin and shall be cross-linked. It shall be homogeneous and essentially free from flaws, defects, pinholes, bubbles, seams, cracks, and inclusions. 3.2.1 Dimensions As specified on (ASTM D 2671) engineering drawing Shall be specified before and after shrink. 3.2.2 Longitudinal Change
6、+0%, -10% (ASTM D 2671) 3.3 SPECIFIC GRAVITY 1.35 max (ASTM D 2671, outer wall only) 3.4 LOW TEMPERATURE FLEXIBILITY AT -30 C No cracking (ASTM D 2671, Procedure C, outer wall only) Test Method: Specimens of tubing, as supplied (sizes as described in ASTM D 2671, Procedure C) and a mandrel (see Tabl
7、e 1 for size) shall be conditioned for 4 h at -30 +/- 2 C. While at this temperature, the specimens shall be wrapped around the mandrel for at least 360 in approximately 2 s.
