SCOPE This material specification defines the minimum acceptable performance requirements and physical/chemical properties of engine oil to be used by Ford Motor Company i
3、n its worldwide engine/vehicle manufacturing operations. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for initial fill engine oils used for lubrication of spark ignition engines using gasolines and for naturally aspirated and turbo-charged compression ignition engines using diesel fuels
4、. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 PERFORMANCE Shall meet all the requirements of API service category “SG/CD“ as defined in SAE S
5、tandard J 183 (latest revision), “Engine Oil Performance and Engine Service Classification“, or in ASTM D 4485, “Standard Performance Specification for Automotive Engine Oils“. All required engine tests shall be conducted in accordance with the most recently approved procedures as described in ASTM
6、Special Technical Publications 315, 509 and applicable ASTM Research Reports and Information Letters. All tests under surveillance by ASTM must be conducted using test equipment monitored by and calibrated to the requirements of the ASTM Test Monitoring Center. 3.3 VISCOSITY GRADE Shall meet all the
7、 requirements of the applicable SAE viscosity grade as defined in SAE Standard J300 (latest revision), “Engine Oil Viscosity Classification“, except that the kinematic viscosity at 100 C shall be controlled within the limits 9.3 to 10.1 mm2/s. 3.4 ENERGY CONSERVING PERFORMANCE (ASTM Sequence VI) Ave
8、rage Improvement (EFEI), min 2.7% vs HR-2 or equiv. Shall meet all the requirements of the API “Energy Conserving II“ category as defined in SAE Recommended Practice J1423 (latest revision), “Passenger Car and Light Duty Truck Energy Conserving Oil Classification.“ All tests must be conducted using
9、test equipment monitored by and calibrated to the requirements of the ASTM Test Monitoring Center. 10、max (FLTM BJ 127-01, Scanning Brookfield) SAE 10W-30 30 Pa.s at -25 C Copy of curve plotted per FLTM BJ 127-01 (Figure 2) is required. 3.5.2 Viscosity (After Shear Evaluation) Report (mm2/s) (ASTM D 445 or ISO 3104 at 100 C) Sheared viscosity after each of the following tests: a. ASTM D 3945, or aft
11、er 30 cycles of CEC L-14A-78. b. ASTM STP 509 A, Part IV and ASTM D 3607, after 10 h in L-38 test and removal of volatile contaminants. 3.5.3 Viscosity at 150 C and 1E6/s, min (ASTM D 4683 or CEC L-36T-84) New Oil Sheared Oil* SAE 10W-30 2.9 mPa.s 2.6 mPa.s *Perform after item a. of para 3.5.2 3.5.4

15、3.5.9 Seal Compatibility Shall be compatible with all current production component materials. 3.5.10 Physical Appearance and Odor Shall be clear and bright with no objectionable odor. 3.5.11 Homogeneity and Miscibility (FTM 791C, Method 3470.1) Shall remain homogeneous and when mixed with SAE refere
16、nce oils shall remain miscible. 3.6 QUALIFICATION PROCEDURE 3.6.1 Documentation Supplier must furnish to the affected Materials Engineering activity a completed and certified copy of the attached Supplement A and test reports demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of this specificat
17、ion. The test reports must include results on both the candidate oil and the appropriate ASTM reference oils. The standard photographs of the test components are considered an essential part of the required test documentation. The oil sample code used for identification in each test document must be
18、 consistent. Any deviation in sample code uniformity must be explained and shown on the cover of each test report. All tests must be certified by a qualified and authorized representative of the test facility. 3.6.2 “Read Across“ Guidelines It is recommended that all performance tests be conducted o
19、n the final formulation, however, some exceptions may be permitted on an individual basis. Supplementary supportive data on similar formulations may be necessary in determining final approval. Minimum Energy Conserving performance of the SAE 10W-30 oil may be established on the corresponding SAE 10W
