2、eral agencies. 1. SCOPE. This commercial item description (CID) covers hand operated metal turret punch machines of the multi-station turret type, complete with equipment and accessories as specified herein. 2. CLASSIFICATION. The multi-station turret punch shall be of the following types, and sizes
3、: 3.1 m. Type refers to the method used to rotate the turret. Unless otherwise specified (see 7.2(b), the types described herein are as follows: Type I - Hand synchronized turret rotation Type II - Hand wheeigear synchronized turrets Type III - Non synchronized turrets 2.2 distribution is unlimited.

The punch machine shall be new and one of the manufacturers current production models offered for sale on the commercial market
5、. The punch machine shall be a self-contained unit and shall include all components, parts, and features necessary to meet the requirements of this commercial item description. The design shall include two multi-punch station type turrets, mounted on a “C” type fiame. The upper turret shall be provi
6、ded with punch holders and the lower turret will be provided with die holders. 3.2 Controls. The punch machine shall be equipped with all the controls required for the complete control of pressing operations. AU operating controls shall be located convenient to the operator at his normai workstation
7、. 3.3 Commnents. The punch machine shall consist of not less than a fiame, turrets, punch holders, die holders, punches and dies, strippers, and ram. 3.3.1 Frame. The fiame structure shall be of the mass, weight, and rigidity to withstand stresses produced when operating the punch machine at its max
8、imum capacity without permanent deformation or failure. The frame shall be of the “C” fiame style, stress relieved, with a throat depth not less than that specified for the size ordered. The fiame shall have a tensile strength of not less than 45,000 pounds per square inch (P.S.I.). The fiame shall
9、have provisions for mounting the punch machine to a work surface or stand. 3.3.2 Turrets. The punch machine shall be provided with upper and lower rotating turrets mounted on bearing surfaces. The punch machine shall be arranged to allow rotation of the turrets for positioning the selected punch sta
10、tion under a lever actuated ram. Unless otherwise specified (see 7.2(d), each turret shall be provided with the number of stations specified for the size ordered. The turrets shall be provided with indexing pins for aligning the punches of the upper turret with the corresponding dies of the lower tu
11、rret. The punch machine shall be provided with the means for preventing the ram om being actuated until the turrets are locked into the punching position. The turrets for type I and II machines shall be synchronized to rotate as a single unit. 3.3.2.1 Punch holders. Each punch station shall be provi
12、ded with a punch holder. The punch holder shall be arranged to securely hold the punch in position. The punch holders shall be designed to accommodate round and shaped punches. The punch holders sbaI1 be keyed to* assure positive aiignment with the dies. 3.3.2.2 Die holders. Each punch station shall
13、 be provided with a die holder. The die holder shall be arranged to secureiy hold the die in position. The die holder shaii be designed to hold round and shaped dies. The die holder shall be keyed to assure positive alignment with the punch. 3.3.3 Punches and dies. The punch machine shall be furnish
14、ed with one set of punches and dies. Unless otherwise specified (see 7.2(e), the punch and die set shall be the sizes normally provided by the manufacturer for the size machine specified. The punches and dies shall be marked to identi each punch with the corresponding die. 3.3.4 Nibbling shear. When specified (see 7.2(f), the punch machine shall be furnished with a manual
16、ly operated nibbling shear. The nibbling action of the shear shall be accomplished by the use of the hand lever actuated ram. The nibbling shear shall be capable of performing cutouts in mild steel with a thickness not more than 12 gauge. 3.3.5 Strippers. The punch machine shall be provided with str
17、ippers or other means for automatically releasing the workpiece from the punch when the punch is withdrawn from the die. 3.3.6 m. A hand lever actuated ram shall accomplish the punching action of the punch machine. The ram shall be designed to assure that sufficient energy is developed by a single s
18、troke of the hand lever to accomplish the performance requirements specified herein. The hand lever shall be not more than 36 inches in length. 3.4 Worktable. When specified (see 7.2(g), each machine shall be provided with either a steel plate, stress relieved, production worktable with manual adjus
19、tment back and side gauges, or a precision worktable with manual micrometer adjustment back and side gauges. The back gauge shall provide workpiece adjustment in the “Y“ axis direction from the ram center through not less than two-thirds of the throat depth. The side gauge shall provide workpiece ad
