1、A-A-50211A February 5, 1988 SUPERSEDING A-A-50 2 11 July 6, 1986 COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION ROD, STADIA (FOLDING) The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description in preference to Federal Specification GG-R-550. This description covers two types of fold

2、ing stadia rods: Type I - decimal -English graduations, and Type II metric graduations. Salient characteristics: Design: The stadia rod (English graduations) shall have an overall length of 12 to 14 feet. The rod shall be provided with self locking hinges for center folding and be rigid when fully e

3、xtended. The rod shall be 2-718 inches to 3 inches wide, and shall have black grad- uations against a white background with red or orange numerals, graduated in feet, tenths and 112 tenths. The stadia rod (Metric graduations) shall have an overall length of 4 meters, shall be pro- vided with a self

4、locking hinge to fold at the 2 meter mark, and shall be rigid when fully extended. The rod shall be 2-718 inches to3 inches wide, and shall have black graduations against a white background with red or orange numerals, graduated in meters, decimeters, and centi- meters. When folded, the rods shall f

5、old flat with the sections in alignment. Tolerances: Tolerances for the graduations shall be plus or minus 0.01 inch on decimals, and plus or minus 1/64 inch on fractions. Materials: Hardwood. Hardwood shall be maple or basswood and shall be free of decay, splits, streaks, checks, shakes, wane, hole

6、s, warp, and bow. Softwood. Softwood shall be Port Orford cedar, ponderosa pine, white pine, sugar pine, or spruce. 18、oduct and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and is the same product as the manufacturers current product offered by the contractor in the commercial marketplace for at least one year preceding the solicitation. The Gov

19、ernment reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. Small business. A small business that cannot meet the certification-of- commercial-item requirement of this document, may make

20、 an offer under this solicitation; and, if such small business is the apparent successful offeror, the Government may require the small business to submit a sample folding stadia rod. Any such stadia rod may be evaluated for this solicitation if time to contract award permits. Such evaluation would

21、be to determine conformance to all requirements of this commercial item description and to determine equivalency to folding stadia rods available in the commercial marketplace in the areas of accuracy, durability, human factors engineering, and safety.
