The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Rundstahlketten (Round Steel Link Chains Sta

4、ndards Committee), Technical Committee 3 Anschlagketten und Zubehr. This standard establishes the German nomenclature for various types of hooks used on lifting equipment and includes figures showing the corresponding examples. Work on ISO 1837 was largely based on ASTM A 952. National Annex NA list

5、s the DIN Standards specifying details with regard to lifting hooks, such as dimensions, loadbearing capacity, requirements and test conditions. As a translation aid, National Annex NB lists the terms in German, English and French. The French and English terms were taken from ISO 1837. Amendments Th

6、is standard differs from DIN ISO 1837:2008-03 as follows: a) In the informative National Annex NB “Trilingual terminology”, the English term for Figure no. 14 “Clevis foundry hook” has been replaced with “Clevis grab hook”. 15、nternational Standard establishes the nomenclature for various types of hooks used on lifting equipment. 2 Classification A lifting hook is classified a) according to its method of attachment (e.g. shank hook, Figure 1 to 4, eye hook, Figure 5 to 9, clevis hook, Figure 10 to 15, swivel eye hook, Fig

16、ures 16 and 17), and b) according to its shape or other defining characteristics, including its intended use (e.g. ramshorn hook, self-locking hook, foundry hook). NOTE For practical reasons some combinations of the method of attachment and the defining characteristics are not used. Figures 1 to 17

17、give typical examples of the most frequently used types of hook and the nomenclature.
