6、nts within the meaning of the Gerte- und Produktsicherheitsgesetz (GPSG) (German Equipment and Product Safety Act). This document has been prepared by Working Group NA 055-02-03 AA Laborarmaturen of the Normenauschuss Laborgerte und Laboreinrichtungen (FNLa) (Laboratory Devices and Installations Sta
7、ndards Committee). Amendments This standard differs from DIN 12899-3:1992-10 as follows: a) The standard has been adapted to comply with the European standard series EN 15154. b) Three performance classes have been introduced and tank showers are now covered. c) Terms and definitions have been speci
8、fied. d) The type test method has been modified. e) Requirements concerning user information have been added. Previous editions DIN 12899-3: 1992-10 Introduction Emergency safety body showers for production and logistic sites are designed and intended to be installed close to potentially hazardous w
9、orking areas. The main purpose of these devices is to immediately deliver flushing fluid in sufficient volume to extinguish flames and/or to flush the body following exposure to injurious substances or heat. Once this is accomplished, the injured person can proceed to medical care. 3 DIN 12899-3:200
10、9-04 1 Scope This document is a product standard giving performance requirements for emergency safety body showers that are a) connected to a water supply or b) equipped with a storage tank and optionally connected to an uninterrupted or a temporary water supply. It is only applicable to emergency s
11、afety body showers (also in combination with safety eyewashes) which will be installed on production and logistic sites. DIN EN 15154-1 applies to safety body showers in laboratories. DIN EN 15154-2 applies to safety eyewashes on industrial sites and similar areas. This standard specifies requiremen
12、ts regarding the performance, installation, adjustment and marking of the showers as well as installation, operation and maintenance instructions to be given by the manufacturer. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. 20、 Classification Body showers for production and logistic sites shall comply with one of the three classes given in Table 1. 21、00 r 200: (50 10) % r 400: 95 % III 100 r 200: (50 10) % r 400: 70 % aFor tank showers the water distribution of Class III applies irrespective of the volume flow rate (see also 4.3.3). 5 DIN 12899-3:2009-04 4.2 Flow rate of water 4.2.1 Plumbed-in body showers The water supplied by plumbed-in body s
22、howers shall be of a constant flow rate discharged overhead in accordance with one of the three classes given in Table 1 at a flow pressure to be specified by the manufacturer. The plumbed-in body shower shall be capable of delivering this supply for a minimum of 15 minutes. NOTE Attention is drawn
23、to possible national regulations concerning the volume flow rate. During the type test (see 4.3.1), the flow pressure shall be measured with a fully opened valve at the point where the shower is connected to the water supply. The measured value shall be indicated in the manufacturers information. If
