PURPOSE

24、ANDSCOPE 1.1 This method describes a procedure for measuring the penetration of water through fabrics, with the fabric under constant water pressure. It is primarily applicable to heavily proofed fabrics used in tarpaulins, tentage and vehicle covers. The test is carried out using a head of water co

25、nsidered to represent conditions in excess of those likely to be experienced in service. 1.2 This method may require the use of materials and/or equipment that could be hazardous. This document does not purport to address all the safety aspects associated with its use. Anyone using this method has t

PRINCIPLE 2.1 The upper surface of a specimen of fabric held horizontally supports a column of

27、water maintained at a fixed height. The amount of water passing through the specimen in a given time is determined, both before and ater a specified flexing treatment. 3.
