Summary of Practice4.1 The manhole is accessed through the existing manholecover, without removal of manhole f

20、rame. The partial orfull-depth rehabilitation is accomplished by the installation ofa single piece resin impregnated stretchable liner that is curedunder pressure. The liner is pressed against the existingmanhole by a pressurized bladder until the thermoset resinshave cured. The liner shall start at

21、 the manhole cover seat andextend to a pre-determined depth in the manhole, withoutcovering the manhole bottom/bench. The cured-in-place man-hole liner shall conform to the contours of the existingmanhole, resurface the interior of the manhole, reduce oreliminate inflow and infiltration, and provide

22、 a surface resistantto sewer gases.5. Significance and Use5.1 This practice is for use by designers and specifiers,regulatory agencies, owners, and inspection organizations whoare involved in the rehabilitation of manholes ranging from 24in. (0.61 m) and larger in diameter without excavation through

23、the use of a resin-impregnated tube installed within an existingmanhole. As for any practice, modifications may be requiredfor specific job conditions.5.1.1 The CIPMH liner is suitable for circular and non-circular manholes with varying diameters along the depth ofthe manhole.5.2 The design engineer

24、 shall determine the CIPMH linerrequirement to withstand external loads.6. Procedure6.1 PreparationAll surfaces to be lined must be properlyprepared by pressure washing with a minimum of 3500 psi (6.9kPa) at 5 gal/min (63.1 cm3/s) pressure washer at a distance ofno greater than 1-ft (0.305 m) from t

25、he manhole wall; using noless than 140F (60C) water temperature, and an environmen-tally safe detergent designed to remove fats, oils, and grease.Other alternatives to clean the manhole may be used along withpressure washing such as abrasive blasting. The existingcasting shall be cleaned using a gri

26、nder or by sand blasting.Large voids and missing bricks shall be filled with hydrauliccement to provide an area that the liner can press up against.Small voids and missing mortar may go unpatched, since theseareas will be filled with excess resin. Active infiltration istemporarily sealed by use of c

27、hemical grout injection or fastsetting plugging materials. Steps that are located in the area tobe lined shall be removed. The rehabilitation is accomplishedusing a stretchable, textile tube of particular length and athermoset resin with chemical properties appropriate for theapplication. Chemical r

28、esistance tests shall be completed inaccordance with Test Method D543 as noted in Appendix X1.In areas that experience freeze/thaw conditions, a glass rein-forcing mat may be inserted into the corbel section prior to theinsertion of the stretchable liner tube. The liner tube isvacuum-impregnated (sa

29、turated) on-site with the thermosetresin. In cases where ground water infiltration is prevalent andthe owner requires a leak-free CIPMH, compression gasketsshall be positioned at the upper and lower ends of the liner tubeand at pipe penetrations forming a compression gasket seal.The saturated liner

30、is then lowered into the manhole and istemporarily held in position. The inflation device is thenlowered and properly positioned inside of the liner. Theinflation device is then pressurized expanding the bladder andpressing the liner tube against the manhole walls. The inflationpressures are relevan

31、t to the specific bladder and liner tubeutilized by the installer. For specific information, refer to themanufacturers guidelines/quality controls. Once the resin-saturated liner is cured, the inflation device is removed. Theliner is then trimmed flush with the manhole cover seat.6.2 Vacuum Impregna

32、tionThe liner shall be vacuum im-pregnated (saturated) onsite under controlled conditions. Theresins shall be sufficient to fill all voids in the liner material atnominal thickness and diameter. No dry or unsaturated areas inthe liner shall be acceptable upon visual inspection.6.3 Inflation DeviceOn

33、ce the liner is placed in the man-hole the inflation device is inserted inside the liner. Spacingrings on top of the manhole allow the inflation device to rest atthe correct depth. Once inserted, the inflation device bladder ispressurized so as to cause the liner to fully contact the manholewalls. T

34、he inflation device stays in-place and pressurized untilthe liner is cured.6.4 CuringThe liner is cured at ambient temperatures orby a suitable heat source as it is pressed firmly against themanhole. The curing time must take into consideration theresin system, ground conditions (temperature and moi

35、sturelevels), and weather conditions. Typically, 1-2 h are needed tocure the liner. A curing log shall be used to document the resinusage, and other pertinent information, and will be availablefor submittal to the owner if requested. A representativeidentical to the resin mixture in the liner should

36、 be kept in acontainer next to the manhole to ascertain when the resinthermoset reaction occurs. The curing controls shall be subjectto manufacturers guidelines, including a cool down cycle.When surcharge conditions arise, while the manhole liner isbeing cured, a temporary flow bypass shall be insta

37、lled.F3033 1626.5 TrimmingOnce cured, the inflation bladder may beremoved or when a compatible epoxy resin system is used, theinflation bladder shall be permanently bonded to the resinsaturated liner providing an impermeable barrier. Any conden-sation or water accumulated within the bladder shall be

38、removed by a pump or in the application of a sewer manhole,the lower end of the bladder is opened allowing any water todrain into the sewer. The inflation device is removed and theliner is trimmed at the manhole cover seat. If any active pipeopenings are covered by the manhole lining, they shall ber

39、eopened.Field Inspection7. Scope7.1 HazardsPrior to entering a manhole, an evaluation ofthe atmosphere to determine the presence of toxic or flammablevapors or lack of oxygen must be undertaken in accordancewith local, state, or federal regulations.8. Precision and Bias8.1 Manhole Liner Wall Thickne

40、ssThe installer shall pro-vide an onsite wetout log that includes nominal liner thickness,resin quantity, liner size, and time of resin saturation. Theaverage wall thickness for the manhole liner shall not be lessthan 0.177 in. (4.5 mm). Increased wall thickness will bedetermined by the Design Engin

41、eer.NOTE 1This standard is an installation practice and therefore a designappendix is not mandatory.9. Quality Control9.1 The installer shall visually inspect for the following:9.1.1 that the liner is firmly pressed, bonded, and closefitting against the manhole walls;9.1.2 that it is completely cure

Minimum standardsare presented for standard domestic sewer applications.X1.2 Procedure for Chemical-Resistance Testing:X1.2.1 Chemical resistance tests should be completed inaccord

44、ance with Practices D543. Exposure should be for aminimum of one month at 73.4F (23C). During this period,the CIPP test specimens should lose no more than 20% of theirinitial flexural strength and flexural modulus when tested inaccordance with Section 8 of this practice.X1.2.2 Table X1.1 presents a
