3、m covers ASA and AES materi-als, andASAandAES alloys suitable for injection molding andextrusion. This classification system does not cover recycledASA and AES materials, and recycled ASA and AES alloys.1.2 The properties included in this standard are thoserequired to identify the compositions cover

Other require-ments necessary to identify particular characteristics importantto specialized applications are to be specified by using thesuffixes as given in Section 5.1.3 This classification system and subsequent line callout(specification) are intended to provide a means of calling outplastic
5、 materials used in the fabrication of end items or parts.It is not intended for the selection of materials. Materialselection can be made by those having expertise in the plasticfield only after careful consideration of the design and theperformance required of the part, the environment to which itw
6、ill be exposed, the fabrication process to be employed, thecosts involved, and the inherent properties of the material otherthan those covered by this standard.1.4 The following precautionary caveat pertains only to thetest method portion, Section 11, of this classification system:This standard does

Terminology3.1 The terminology used in this classification system is inaccordance with Terminolog
16、ies D883 and D1600.4. Classification4.1 ASA and AES materials, and ASA and AES alloys areclassified into groups according to their composition. Thesegroups are subdivided into classes and grades as shown inTable ASA/AES.NOTE 2An example of this classification system is given as follows:The designati
17、on ASA0111 indicates the following:ASA = acrylonitrilestyreneacrylate, as found in TerminologyD1600,01 = injection molding resin (group),1 = medium impact (class), and1 = requirements given in Table ASA/AES (grade).4.1.1 To facilitate incorporation of future or special materi-als, the “other” catego
18、ry for class (0), and grade (0) is shownin Table ASA/AES. The basic properties of these materials areobtained from Table A, B, or C as they apply.4.2 Reinforced, filled, and lubricated versions of ASA andAES materials, and ASA and AES alloys that are not in TableASA/AES are classified in accordance
19、with Table A, B, or C.Table ASA/AES is used to specify the group of the materialand Table A, B, or C is used to specify the property require-ments after the addition of reinforcements, pigments, fillers, orlubricants at the nominal level indicated (see 4.2.1).4.2.1 Reinforced versions of the basic m
20、aterials are identi-fied by a single letter that indicates the reinforcement used andtwo digits that indicate the nominal quantity in percent byweight. Thus, a letter designation G for glass-reinforced forpercent of reinforcement, G33, specifies a filled material witha nominal glass level of 33 %. T

24、d, filled, or lubri-cated ASA and AES materials, and ASA and AES alloys shallbe shown by a six-character designation. The designation willconsist of the letter “A,” “B,” or “C” and the five digitscomprising the cell numbers for the property requirements inthe order as they appear in Tables A, B, or
