Manufacture3.1 Trinidad lake modified asphalt shall be prepared byblending naturally occurring Trinidad lake asphalt (TLA) (20to 50 %) with asphalt cement ob

6、tained by the refining of crudepetroleum by methods suitable to produce a homogeneous finalproduct. The percentage TLA in the blend must be clearlystated by the supplier. Fillers other than those from TLA willnot be allowed in the asphalt cement blend.4. Properties4.1 The blended Trinidad lake modif

7、ied asphalt shall behomogeneous as determined by appropriate sampling andtesting.4.2 The various grades of Trinidad lake modified asphaltshall conform to the requirements prescribed in Table 1.5. Sampling and Testing5.1 The material shall be sampled and the properties enu-merated in this specificati

CORRECTION TO MIX FINES TO COMPENSATE FOR FINES IN TRINIDAD LAKE ASPHALTX1.1 Since Trinidad Lake Asphalt contains some fines, itmay be desirable to make a correction to the minus No. 200 (75m) fines in the mix to compensate. A formula used by theUtah D

14、OT has been developed based on 36 percent mineralmatter with 91.2 percent passing the No. 200 (75 m) and isincluded for information.Fines Correction 5 32.83 xPB! xPT!
