Scope1.1 This specification covers hot-finished and cold-finishedmartensitic chromium steel bars for high-temperature service.The mechanical properties are developed by suitable heattreatment, as indica
4、ted for each alloy.1.2 Where strength at temperature is a factor, these steelsare generally limited to a maximum service temperature of1200F 650C. For oxidation (scaling) resistance and at lowstresses, these steels are useful to 1450F 790C.1.3 This specification is expressed in both inch-pound units
5、and SI units; however, unless the purchase order or contractspecifies the applicable M specification designation (SI units),the inch-pound units shall apply. The values stated in eitherinch-pound units or SI units are to be regarded separately asstandard. Within the text, the SI units are shown in b
6、rackets.The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents;therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other.Combining values from the two systems may result in noncon-formance with the specification.2. 17、1 Heat Treatment:5.1.1 The product forms covered in this specification maybe furnished in one of the following conditions:5.1.1.1 Condition AAnnealed,5.1.1.2 Condition THeat treated (for machining),5.1.1.3 Condition HTHeat treated (for high-temperatureservice), or5.1.1.4 Condition HHeat treated.5.2
18、Condition and Finish:5.2.1 Bars may be furnished in one of the followinghot-finished conditions:5.2.1.1 Hot rolled, or5.2.1.2 Rough turned (rounds only).5.2.2 Bars may be furnished in one of the followingcold-finished conditions:5.2.2.1 Cold drawn,5.2.2.2 Centerless ground (rounds only), or5.2.2.3 P
19、olished (rounds only).6. Chemical Requirements6.1 Each alloy covered by this specification shall conform tothe chemical composition specified in Table 1.6.2 Methods and practices relating to chemical analysisrequired by this specification shall be in accordance with TestMethods, Practices, and Termi
20、nology A751.7. Metallurgical Requirements7.1 The microstructure shall not contain more than 5 %delta-ferrite after full heat treatment as described in Table 2.Visual examination for the volume fraction of delta ferrite ofvarious representative areas of examination is acceptable.When the visual estim
21、ation method indicates the delta ferritecontent is greater than the allowed limit, the manufacturer mayemploy Test Method E562 for determining the acceptability ofthe lot.8. Mechanical Properties Requirements8.1 The material shall conform to the mechanical propertieslisted in Table 3 for the ordered
