1、MIL-L-50794 22 January 1973 MILITARY SPECIFICATION LINEAR SHAPED CHARGE ASSEMBLY This specification is approved for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense. 1. SCOPE 1.1 This specification covers the general requirements for the design, development and preproduction testing
2、of Linear Shaped Charge (LSC) Assem- blies to be utilized for Aircrew Escape Systems. A shaped-Charge Assembly conists of a length of linear shaped charge supported by a housing (re- tainer) two booster tips (one at each end), and such fittings as are needed for attaching to other explosive assembli
3、es. 2. REQUIREMENT 10018). 3.1 Preproduction. This specification makes provision for preproduction testing . 3.

13、77906 0434354 7 = MIL-L- 50 794 3.3 Material . All materials used in propellant formulation, hardware components, adhesives, etc. shall be in accordance with existing Government specifications. Use of materials not covered by existing Government speci- fications shall require prior approval by the c
14、ognizant design agency. 3.3.1 Dissiuilar metals. Dissimilar metals , as defined in MIL-STD.889 shall not be used In contact with each other. the parts shall be protected in accordance with MIL-F-7179. Where such contact is unavoidable, 3.3.2 Aluminum. The following requirements shall apply. a. Where
15、 a high strength aluminum alloy is required, 7075-T73 in accordance with specification MIL-A-22771, shall be used. (Not for fittings/ connector) b. Ultrasonic inspection requirements for aluminum alloy products shall be in accordance with MIL-1-8950. . 3.3.3 Magnesium and Magnesium Alloys, 3.3.4 Cas
16、tings. The use of castings for structural applications require Magnesium alloys shall not be used. procuring activity approval prior to use. 3.3.5 Fungus proof materials. Materials which are not nutrients for fungi shall be used to the greatest extent practicable. are nutrients for fungi must be use

Where materials that 3.4 Design linear shaped charge assemblies or connect some functional device directly to the end of a shaped-charge assembly, The assembly shall be sealed to prevent moisture penetration into the area of the Linear Shap
18、ed Charge (LSC) apex prior to functioning. 3.11 Sealing. 3.12 Structural Integrity. When fired under any combination of the en- vironments specified herein, the assembly shall exhibit sufficient structural integrity to prevent backblast or shrapnel from being generated in a manner that might create
19、a personnel hazard within the cockpit area with all internal explosive charges increased 25% over the maximum loading tolerance. d 3.13 Threads. All threads shall be in accordance with Specification MIL- S-7742. 3.14 Junction Fittings. The assemblies shall incorporate junction fittings having thread
20、ed ports to receive the initiating SMDC or LSC. These threaded ports shall be capable of withstanding installation of 90 in-lb. torque in accordance with the following schedule: 3/8-24-UNF-3A THD. 7/16-20-UNF-3A THD. 1/2-20-UNF-3A THD. 5/8-18-UNF-3A THD. Those fittings shall remain intact in port ar
21、eas after firing of the shaped charge. 3.15 Lockwiring. Wherever LSC fittings have lockwire provisions the junction fittings should have lockwire provisions. preferable for LSC assemblies. 22、rom IHS-,-,-MIL-L-50794 3 . 16 Exp los ive. 3.16.1 Linear Shaped Charge (LSC) The assembly shall incorporate Linear Shaped Charge (LSC) as the explosive cutting medium. Composition of the LSC shall include an explosive core of hexanitrostilbene (HNS-II), or chemical compound dipicramide (DIPAM Grade
23、 A) in accordance with WS4660 Grade A, contained within an aluminum sheath. The HNS shall fully satisfy the requirements of WS5003 and MIL-STD-1316. 3.16.2 Standoff. The LSC shall be contained within a flexible housing strip whose dimensions are such that, when the face of the housing strip is in co
24、ntact with the surface to be cut, the LSC is positioned at its optimum standoff dis tance. 3.16.3 Output. The explosive output of the LSC shall be sufficient to meet the detailed requirements. 3.17 Explosive transfer. The contractor shall submit details of inter- face alignment for all discontinuous
