The truth is that many recruiters are actually not particularly good at interviewing either nor particularly effective
3、. So, if you prepare properly and are a good interviewee, the odds can be stacked in your favour.【R1 】_Its not just a question of researching the organisation. You need to understand your interviewer and why they are hiring. One way or another they are seeking a resource as a solution to an identifi
4、ed problem. So work on understanding the organisational need and how you can add value. Look at the challenges and opportunities they face and work out how to show that your experience and expertise are relevant. Use your network to gather all the intelligence you can.【R2 】_Rehearse your presentatio
5、n. I dont necessarily mean being word perfect. Im talking about what you say when anyone asks you what you do, why you left, what you have achieved and so on. Can you talk about yourself comfortably, with confidence, concisely with clarity? Practice so that you have the right words, dont get fluster
6、ed, talk at the right pace and, crucially, know when to stop. Remember the need for consistency between words and body language.【R3 】_People trained in interview techniques are told to use the 70/30 rule. That is to say the interviewer aims to talk for about 30% of the time allotted and the candidat
7、e talks 70% of the time, in response. The smart candidate actually wants a 50/50 dialogue. You should aim for a conversation, directed along the lines you preferwhereby you can play to your strengths. The interviewer can only go with what you give them. Make it easy for the interviewer by saying “Ha
8、ve I told you all you need to know on that subject? Can I give you more detail?“ Build rapport, find some common ground. But remember its not a monologue , you are both actors in the interview.【R4 】_Henry Ford famously said “If you think you can do a thing or think you cant do a thing, youre right“.
9、 Youre motivated, youve done the prep and have the drive to succeed so visualise success. Whether you call it confidence, self-esteem or self-belief, to shine at interview you need to show that you will make a good employee. Show that you are good at interacting and reading your situation, good at s
10、elling yourself and your ideas. Practicing your interview technique will make it so much easier to shine. There s no need to be nervous if you believe you are a good candidate for the role.【R5 】_After the interview send a letter. Thank them for seeing you. Reiterate how interested you are in them an

But before you fire off that “Will you refer me?“ email, consider some of these important factors that can make or break your chances at an interview.【R1 】_If your intended referrer is your best college pal or Aunt Winnie, proceed with caution. While it s great to have friends or family who can
15、vouch for you on a personal level, many hiring managers are more interested in your professional abilities. And getting a referral from someone who can t even repeat what you do for a living may come across as a weak attempt at getting your foot in the door, not a strong recommendation. The best con
16、tact is one who knows your career progression and accomplishments.【R2 】_Your dream job resides in sales and marketing, but your contact at the company works in tech support. At small companies, this link may be sufficient enough to secure you an interview, but you cant always count on it. The best r

Your potential referrer can then take the time to thoughtfully consider whether

And you give her a chance to quickly research any pertinent information regarding the hiring manager and job qualifications.【R4 】_When making your referral request, ask your contact whether she is comfortable
19、 providing a referral. While you might be eager to cut to the chase by asking directly for an endorsement, a wishy-washy or noncommittal referral can be worse than no referral at all, so dont take it personally if she refuses.
