12、ne of an offshore platform. It is intended for use by facility owners and coating manufacturers. This standard was prepared by NACE Task Group (TG) 260 on Offshore Platorm Maintenance Coatings (Nonimmersion): Standard Test Methods. This TG is administered by Specific Technology Group (STG) 02 on Coa

13、tings and Linings, Protective: Atmospheric. It is also sponsored by STG 33 on Oil and Gas Production-Nonmetallics and Wear Coatings (Metallic). 37、etals is not required to prepare the synthetic seawater. Commercial-grade sea salts may be used instead of reagent-grade sea salts to prepare the synthetic seawater. 39、he minimum quantity of test specimens for each surface preparation and test method. Extra coated test specimens should be prepared in case a repeat test is needed later. 5.1.2 A welding rod 3.18 mm (0.125 in.) in diameter and 76 mm (3.0 in.) in length should be welded to the center of one of the 76-

40、mm (3.0-in.) sides of each steel panel to suspend the panel in the air so that the entire panel can be coated at one time. Other techniques to spray all sides of a panel may also be used. 5.2 Surface Preparation Test specimens with three different surface preparations shall be used for the rust cree

41、page resistance, cathodic disbondment, and seawater immersion resistance tests: 5.2.1 NACE No. 2/SSPC-S IO7 or IS0 8501-1 Sa 2.5 near-white metal finish 5.2.2 Damp surface: Immediately prior to the application of the prime coat. The NACE No. 2 SSPC- SP 10 or IS0 8501-1 Sa 2.5 near-white metal finish

42、 steel panels shall be dipped into tap water and then stripped with a wet and wrung cloth. No water droplets shall be visually evident on the steel panel surfaces. 5.2.3 200 mg/m CI- surface preparation procedure: The procedure to prepare 200 mg/m CI- for a 76 x 150-mm (3.0 x 6.0-in.) test specimen

43、shall be as fo I lows: 5.2.3.1 The surface area of each side of a 76 x 150-mm (3.0 x 6.0-in.) steel panel is 11,600 mm (1 8.0 in). 5.2.3.2 2,320 pg of CI ion is required to make a 200 mg/m CI concentration. 5.2.3.3 0.5 mL of salt solution of 4.64 g/L CI ion concentration shall be used to cover each

44、side of the steel test panel. To make a 1.0-L salt solution, 4.64 g of CI ion is required; therefore 7.64 g of sodium chloride (NaCI) is required. 5.2.4 NaCI shall be placed in a 93 to 121C (200 to 250F) oven for at least 2 hours to remove any moisture. 5.3 Anchor Profile Anchor profile on all steel

45、 panels shall be as specified by the coating manufacturer. If not specified, the anchor profile shall be 40 to 75 pm (1.5 to 3.0 mil) as measured with a replica tape in accordance with NACE Standard RP0287. 5.4 If abrasive blasting is not possible because of a particular field condition, the steel p

46、anels shall be prepared in the same manner as they would be in the field. All the test methods shall still be applicable.
