4、Summary This Recommendation presents the basic concepts of the Global Information Infrastructure (GII). It describes a number of models which can be used to represent the functional entities involved in the provision of the GII, and their interrelationships, from a variety of perspectives or view po
5、ints. Source ITU-T Recommendation Y.110 was prepared by ITU-T Study Group 13 (1997-2000) and was approved under the WTSC Resolution No. 1 procedure on the 12th of June 1998. 6、U-T RECYN Y-110-ENGL 1998 4862593 Ob52654 399 FOREWORD IT (International Telecommunication Union) is the United Nations Specialized Agency in the field of telecommunications. The IT Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) is a permanent organ of the ITU. The IT-T is responsible for studying
7、 technical, operating and tariff questions and issuing Recommendations on them with a view to standardizing telecommunications on a worldwide basis. The World Telecommunication Standardization Conference (WTSC), which meets every four years, establishes the topics for study by the ITU-T Study Groups
8、 which, in their turn, produce Recommendations on these topics. The approval of Recommendations by the Members of the ITU-T is covered by the procedure laid down in WTSC Resolution No. 1. In some areas of information technology which fali within IT-Ts purview, the necessary standards are prepared on
9、 a collaborative basis with IS0 and IEC. NOTE In this Recommendation, the expression “Administration“ is used for conciseness to indicate both a telecommunication administration and a recognized operating agency.
