T.84 I ISO/IEC 10918-3 allows registration of new compression types and versions in the SPIFF (the standard PEG file format) header. T.84 (1996)/Amd.l(1999 E) 1 - _ FOREWORD ITU (International Telecommunication Union) is the United Nations Specialized Agency in the field of telecommuni- cations. The ITU Telecommunication Standardizatio

6、n Sector (ITU-T) is a permanent organ of the ITU. The ITU-T is responsible for studying technical, operating and tariff questions and issuing Recommendations on them with a view to standardizing telecommunications on a worldwide basis. The World Telecommunication Standardization Conference (WTSC), w

7、hich meets every four years, establishes the topics for study by the ITU-T Study Groups which, in their turn, produce Recommendations on these topics. The approval of Recommendations by the Members of the ITU-T is covered by the procedure laid down in WTSC Resolution No. 1. In some areas of informat

8、ion technology which fall within ITU-Ts purview, the necessary standards are prepared on a collaborative basis with IS0 and IEC. NOTE In this Recommendation the term recognized operating agency (ROA) includes any individual, company, corporation or governmental organization that operates a public co

9、rrespondence service. The terms Administration, ROA and public correspondence are defined in the Constitution of the ITU (Geneva, 1992). 14、ONE STILL IMAGES: EXTENSIONS AMENDMENT 1 Provisions to allow registration of new compression types and versions in the SPIFF header 1) Subclause F.2.1 Replace the parameter definition of VERS with: VERS: This parameter identifies the version number of this SPIFF specification that the file complies.

15、 The parameter is defined as a two-byte integer with the most significant byte containing the major revision number and the least significant byte containing a minor revision number. In order to make this file format as flexible as possible, a provision has been made that allows new parameter values

16、 in the header of a SPIFF file which are not specified in this Recommendation I International Standard. The value of VERS will increase when these new parameter values are present. The method of adding these new parameter values to this Recommendation I International Standard and the conditions whic

17、h apply when these new values are found is specified in F.2.1.2. 2) Subclause F.2.1 Replace Compression type of the parameter definition of C: “Compression type - Specifies the compression algorithm used to compress the image data:“ with: Compression type - Specifies the compression algorithm used t

T.86 I ISOAEC 10918-4 to support new types of compressions, such as JPEG-LS (ISOAEC 14495 -to be published) and Multicomponent JPEG (ISODEC 14493 - to be published) , 3) New subclaus

19、e F.2.1.2 Add a new subclause F.2.1.2: F.2.1.2 Addition of new header parameter values These shall only be added through a registration procedure specified in ITU-T Rec. T.86 I ISODEC 10918-4, or by formai amendment or revision of this Recommendation I International Standard. This registration proce

20、dure specifies a new and increased value for the parameter VERS on each occasion that a registration is accepted by the registration authority responsible for registration in accordance with ITU-T Rec. T.86 I ISODEC 10918-4. Encoders are encouraged to ensure that the value of VERS used is the lowest
