2、ility requirements of an ultra-high molecular weight (UHMW PE) polyethylene film either coated with an adhesive or laminated to a single coat foam tape. The adhesive shall be a permanent acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive. This tape is designed to provide surface protection against scratches, chafi
3、ng, itching, squeaking and mechanical wear. When laminated to foam, the tape can also provide vibration and rattle reduction. 1.1 Material Description. The UHMW film has a maximum service temperature of 105 C. It is not to be used in decorative applications or areas exposed to ultraviolet (UV). The
4、film color can be either translucent or black. Available film thicknesses are 0.08, 0.125, 0.25 and 0.50 mm. The 0.125 mm thick film is typically used, and most of the data below is based on this thickness. The film can be laminated to foams of various chemistries, typically acrylic or urethane. 1.1
5、.1 Type I material is UHMW PE film coated with a permanent acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive. 1.1.2 Type II material is UHMW PE film laminated to a single coated foam tape. 1.1.3 If there is no type call-out on the drawing, the construction is assumed to be Type I. 1.2 Symbols.
