SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a thermoplastic elastomer with a nominal instantaneous Durometer A hardness of 87 having good long term resista
3、nce to heat at temperatures up to 100 C. Being thermoplastic the material will soften and creep at temperatures exceeding 165 C. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for a material used as suspension gaiters or caps. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to be
4、used for initial qualification of materials. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.4 MOLDED TEST SPECIMEN 3.4.1 Preparation of Test Specimens Unless othe
5、rwise specified, all test shall be conducted on specimens die cut from injection molded plaques 150 x 100 x 2.0 +/- 0.2 mm. The plaques shall be molded according to ISO 294 and film gated along the upper 100 mm edge and preceded by a 0.8 mm diameter pin gate. No annealing allowed, unless specified o
6、therwise. 3.4.2 Density, +/- 0.05 g/cm30.98 (ISO 1183, Method A/ASTM D 792, Method A1) 3.4.3 Hardness, Durometer A 82 - 92 (ISO 868/ASTM D 2240, instantaneous, plied-up specimen.) 3.4.4 Tensile Strength, min 5.3 MPa (ISO R 527, type 2/ASTM D 412, Die C, 500 mm/minute test speed.
