2、d (TE) motors for industrial applications at Ford Motor Company (hereinafter the Company) operations located worldwide. Deviations from this Standard are permitted only upon written waiver by the requisitioning activity. Note: This Standard contains three sets of requirements: Those for North Americ

3、a, both NEMA (NA-NEMA) and IEC (NA-IEC), and those for Europe and/or those countries that follow Euro-Norm Directives and require CE Marked products. Those requirements marked as (NA-ALL) refer to both NEMA and IEC motors for use in North America. For use in North America, motors shall be Underwrite

4、rs Recognized ( ) and CSA Certified ( ) to ensure that their construction is in compliance with the appropriate UL/CSA Standards. For use in Countries who follow the Euro-Norm Directives, motors shall be CE Marked ( ) to ensure that their construction is in compliance with the appropriate EN/IEC Dir

5、ectives. It is preferred that all motors be triple certified and marked with all three above symbols. MANDATORY AND PREFERRED ITEMS: Mandatory requirements of this Standard are characterized by the use of the word “shall“. Preferred items are characterized by the use of the word “should“. 1.1 TYPES

6、OF MOTORS (NA-NEMA): w-EM1 applies to ALL non-explosion proof three-phase, squirrel cage, 575 volts or less, totally enclosed non-ventilated (IP54 Rated) and fan or blower cooled, 80 degree C rise, 1/4 horsepower or more, alternating current, induction type electric motors. 1.1.1 TYPES OF MOTORS (NA

7、-IEC): w-EM1 applies to ALL non-explosion proof, three-phase, 500 volts or less, Rated IP54 or better and IC 40, IC41, or IC46 cooled 80 degree C rise, 0.18 kilowatt or more, alternating current, induction type electric motors, as defined by IEC 60034. 1.1.2 TYPES OF MOTORS (CE): w-EM1 applies to AL

8、L three-phase, 500 volts or less, IP5x, 80 degree C rise, 0.18 kilowatt or more, alternating current, induction type electric motors, as defined by IEC 60034. 1.2 INCLUDED FRAMES (NA-NEMA): w-EM1 applies to inch-sized NEMA Standard electric motors and to fractional horsepower motors in frame size 56

9、, OR to those Ratings designated in NEMA Standard MG-1 Section 11.31, medium (integral) alternating current machines, frames 143T through 449T. 16、onents supplied to this Standard shall be equivalent in all respects to material upon which approval was originally granted. Any deviations from this Standard, without written notice and subsequent review and re-approval by the Ford Global Manufacturing Standards - Electrical Technical Committee, wi

17、ll be sufficient cause for removal from the Ford Global Manufacturing Standards - Electrical Qualified Source List (E1-QSL). 2.3.2 APPROVALS: All products submitted for evaluation shall be “off-the-shelf“ catalog types manufactured with normal production procedures and quality control. Prototype mot

18、ors will not be considered. Suppliers shall submit an itemized DATA SHEET, correspondingly numbered with this Standard, completely addressing their compliance with each provision. The Vice President of Engineering or a higher officer of the Suppliers (Manufacturers) company shall sign this Data Shee

19、t. Suppliers shall also submit copies of any and all test Agency certificates and associated letters and documentation, which cite the actual standards their motors/products were tested to. Approvals shall be made based on conformance to this Standard as certified by the above DATA SHEET, the requir

20、ed Agency approvals, as well as laboratory and performance tests and documented Shop Trials. All documentation is subject to the review of Ford Global Manufacturing Standards - Electrical Technical Committee. 2.4 MARKINGS (NA-ALL): All motors shall be Underwriters Recognized, CSA Certified, and shal

21、l bear the marks of these agencies. 2.4.1 MARKINGS (CE): All motors shall be CE Marked. Note: To facilitate the use of motors on global applications, all motors should Underwriters Recognized, CSA Certified, and CE Marked and bear the above three marks/symbols. 3.0 PERFORMANCE: 3.1 ENERGY EFFICIENCY

22、 (NA-ALL): All motors shall conform to the Energy Policy Act of 1992 (EPACT) as amended, NRCan, IEEE 841 Section 8, and NEMA MG1 Table 12-10 as tested in accordance with NEMA MG1 Part 12.59, independent of application. NEMA Premium Efficiency rated motors that exceed EPACT shall always be specified.

23、 3.1.1 ENERGY EFFICIENCY (CE): All motors shall conform to IEC 60034-1. 3.2 VIBRATION (NA-NEMA): All motors shall meet requirements stated in IEEE 841 Section 6.9 and NEMA MG1 Part 7.07 thru 7.09. 24、cturing Standards Rev Date: 06-Nov-20033.2.1 VIBRATION (NA-IEC): All motors shall conform to IEC 60034-14. 3.2.2 VIBRATION (CE): All motors shall conform to IEC 60034-14. 3.3 ENCLOSURES (NA-NEMA): All motors shall conform to IEEE 841 Section 4.5. 3.3.1 ENCLOSURES (NA-IEC): All motors shall be a mini

25、mum of IP54 Rated. 3.3.2 ENCLOSURES (CE): All motors shall be a minimum of IP54 Rated. 3.4 RATING (NA-NEMA): For definition of Rating, refer to IEEE 841 Section 4.1. 3.4.1 RATING (NA-IEC): For definition of Rating, refer to IEC 60034-1. 3.4.2 RATING (CE): For definition of Rating, refer to IEC 60034

26、-1 Clause 6.2. 3.5 TEMPERATURE RISE (NA-ALL): All motors shall be able to carry full-rated load continuously, with a temperature rise not exceeding 80 degrees C above an ambient temperature of 40 degrees C, measured in accordance with NEMA MG1, Part 12. 3.5.1 TEMPERATURE RISE (CE): All IEC motors sh

27、all be able to carry full-rated load continuously, with a temperature rise not exceeding 80 degrees C above an ambient temperature of 40 degrees C, measured in accordance with IEC 60034-1, Clause 15. 3.6 VOLTAGE AND FREQUENCY (NA-NEMA): All motors shall be three-phase, 460 Volts, 60 Hertz, with 3 le

28、ads. Dual voltage 230/460 shall be furnished only when specified by the requisitioning activity. For power supply variations, refer to IEEE 841, Section 5.3. 3.6.1 VOLTAGE AND FREQUENCY (NA-IEC): All motors shall be three-phase, dual voltage 400/460 Volts, 50 and 60 Hertz, with a terminal block for

29、lead termination. Wye-Delta 400 Volt starting connections shall be provided for on the terminal block for motors greater than 4kW. Dual voltage 230/460 shall be furnished only when specified by the requisitioning activity. For power supply variations, refer to IEEE 841, Section 5.3. 3.6.2 VOLTAGE AN

30、D FREQUENCY (CE): All motors shall be three phase, 50 Hertz or 60 Hertz, and shall comply with IEC 60034-1, Section 12. For power supply variations, refer to IEC 60034-1, Clause 12.3. 3.7. FULL VOLTAGE STARTING (NA-ALL): All motors shall be suitable for full voltage, across the line starting. 3.8 TO

31、RQUE, LOCKED ROTOR CURRENT, AND SLIP (NA-NEMA): Torque, Locked Rotor Current, and Slip shall conform to NEMA Design B for motors 5 Hp and greater. 32、E, LOCKED ROTOR CURRENT, and SLIP (NA-IEC): Breakdown Torque shall be 175% to 300% of rated torque. Locked Rotor Torque shall be 75% to 275% of rated torque. Pull-Up Torque shall be 65% to 190% of rated torque. Locked Rotor Current shall be a maximum of 800% of FLA for 5 Hp/3.7kW motors and greater.

33、 Slip shall conform to IEC Design N (0.5% to 3%). 3.8.2 LOCKED ROTOR and PULL UP TORQUE, SLIP, and SHORT CIRCUIT CURRENT (CE): All motors shall conform to IEC 60034-1 for Locked Rotor and Pull Up Torque, Slip, and Short Circuit Current. 3.9 SERVICE FACTOR (NA-NEMA): All motors shall have a Service F

34、actor of 1.15 as measured on a 60 Hz sinewave power supply at 40 degrees C ambient temperature. 3.9.1 SERVICE FACTOR (NA-IEC): All motors shall have a Service Factor of 1.15 as measured on a 60 Hz sinewave power and a Service Factor of 1.0 as measured on a 50 Hz sinewave power supply at 40 degrees C

35、 ambient temperature. 4.0 MECHANICAL 4.1 FRAME CONSTRUCTION (NA-NEMA): Frames, end-shields, and fan covers shall be cast iron construction. Extruded aluminum frames and rolled steel 56T frames may be acceptable if specified by the requisitioning activity. Stamped steel and polypropylene (non-sparkin

36、g) fan covers may be acceptable if specified by the requisitioning activity. 4.1.1 FRAME CONSTRUCTION (NA-IEC): Frames shall be cast iron, extruded aluminum, or high-pressure die cast aluminum construction. End-shields and fan covers shall be cast iron or die cast aluminum construction, respectively

37、. All aluminum shall be low copper content (4%) to ensure environmental compatibility. Stamped steel and polypropylene (non-sparking) fan covers may be acceptable if specified by the requisitioning activity. 4.2 EYEBOLTS (NA-NEMA): Eyebolts shall conform to IEEE 841 Section 6.7. 4.2.1 EYEBOLTS (NA-I

38、EC): Eyebolts on shall be provided on frame sizes greater than 100 and shall conform to IEEE 841 Section 6.7. 4.3 CONDUIT BOX CONSTRUCTION (NA-NEMA): Conduit Box Construction shall conform to IEEE 841 Section 6.5.a.1. Conduit box material shall be same as frame material. For volume requirements, ref

39、er to NEC/NFPA 70 Section 430-12 and Table 430-12(b), with a minimum size of 12 cubic inches. Appropriate gasket material shall be provided for the cover to prevent any coolants or other liquids from entering the conduit box. 4.3.1 CONDUIT BOX CONSTRUCTION (NA-IEC): Conduit Box Construction shall co

40、nform to IEEE 841 Section 6.5.a.1. Conduit box material shall be same as frame. For volume requirements, refer to NEC/NFPA 70 Section 430-12 and Table 430-12(b), with a minimum size of 12 cubic inches. Conduit Box material shall be same as frame material. 42、 threads on opposite sides of the conduit box. 4.4 CONDUIT BOX POSITION (NA-NEMA): Conduit Box Position shall conform to NEMA MG1 Part 4 and rotate in 90-degree increments per NEMA MG1 Section 6.5. 4.4.1 CONDUIT BOX POSITION (NA-IEC): Conduit Boxes shall be top mount position and rotate in 90-degree

43、 increments per NEMA MG1 Section 6.5. 4.5 NAMEPLATE AND NAMEPLATE MARKING (NA-ALL): Nameplates shall conform to IEEE 841 Section 10.1 (a, b, d, e, and f) and 10.2. In addition to the basic data, the nameplate shall include the Service Factor at 60Hz and NEC Code Letter for Locked Rotor Current. Nomi

44、nal Efficiency may be shown, in place of Guaranteed Minimum Efficiency per IEEE 841 Section 10.1.f. Additional Requirements to IEEE 841 Section 10.1: ALL FIGURES SHALL BE WELL IMPRESSED/DEFINED. The motor connection diagram may be shown on the nameplate or on a separate plate. In either case, the co

45、nnection diagram shall be mounted adjacent to or affixed inside the conduit box for ease of reading when making terminal connections. Three lead connections do not require a connection diagram. 4.5.1 NAMEPLATE AND NAMEPLATE MARKING (CE): Nameplates shall conform to IEC 60034-1, IEC 60027-1, and IEC

46、60027-4, as required. 4.6 SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS (NA-ALL): All special characteristics of motors shall be shown on a separate nameplate mounted adjacent to the conventional motor nameplate. The manufacturers catalog number shall not be considered sufficient to designate such characteristics. Typica

47、l special characteristics include: SPECIAL INSULATION, SPECIAL SHAFT LENGTH, and SPECIAL TORQUE. 5.0 INSULATION SYSTEM AND WINDINGS: 5.1 STATOR INSULATION (NA-ALL): Stator Insulation shall conform to IEEE 841 Section 5.4.1 (excluding subparagraphs d and e), in addition to: To facilitate the use of a

48、 standard Motor, with or without a variable frequency drive (VFD), the magnet wire insulation system shall withstand a minimum of 4000 VAC RMS as measured in accordance with NEMA MW 1000-1993, Section 3.8 (Dielectric Strength). Additional protection shall be provided for the dv/dt surges and the “Fi

49、rst Turn Effect“ caused by VFDs. Stator assemblies shall be varnish impregnated or epoxy coated to protect them from the environment and vibration. If required/specified, the motor manufacturer shall test and prove compatibility of their motor to a specific manufacturers VFD. Motor manufacturers shall specify the maximum length of the conductors between their motor and the VFD.
