、TORY NOTE ETSI has constituted stable and consistent documents which give specifications for the implementation of the European Cellular Telecommunications System. Historically, these documents have been identified . as “GSM recommendations“. Some of these recommendations may subsequently become Int
、erim European Telecommunications Standards (I-ETSs) or European Telecommunications Standards (ETSs), whilst some continue with the status of ETSI-GSM Technical Specifications. These ETSI-GSM Technical Specifications are for editorial reasons still referred to as GSM recommendations in some current G
、SM documents. The numbering and version control system is the same for ETSI-GSM Technical Specifications as for “GSM recommendations“. 3404583 0073607 7LT Page 2 GSM 05.05DCS (version 3.1 .O) GSM Recommendation: 05.05-DCS version : 3.1. 14、for the transceiver of the system pan-european digital personal communicati on d:L, =- operating in the 944-1800 MHz band. Requirements are defined for two categories of parameters: - those that are required to provide compatibility between the radio channels, connected either to separate or common
、antennas, that are used in the system. This category also includes parameters providing compatibility with existing systems in the same or adjacent frequency bands. - those that define the transmission quality of the system. This recommendation is related to RF characteristics. All parameters specif
、ied should be measured over the full range of environmental conditions specified for the equipment (see GSM Recs. 11.10 and 11.20). The precise measurement methods are specified in GSM Recs 11.10 and 11.20, as well as the normal and extreme environmental conditions. Unless otherwise stated, the requ
、irements defined in this recommendation apply to both those conditions. 2. FREQUENCY BANDS AND CHANNEL ARRANGEMENT: The system is required to operate in the following frequency bands: - -1710 - 1785- MHz: mobile transmit, base receive; - -1805 -1880- MHz: base transmit, mobile receive; with a carrie
、r spacing of 200 kHz. In the future, extension bands may be available.-, t-2 t-;f:d -11 L, A -_. In order to ensure the compliance with the radio regulations outside the band, a guard band of 200 kHz between the edge of the band and the first carrier is needed at the bottom of each of the two subban

Consequently, if we call Fl(n) the nth carrier frequency in the lower band, and Fu(n) the nth carrier frequency in the upper band, we have: The value n is called the ABSOLUTE RADIO FREQUENCY CHANNEL NUMBER (ARFCN).
