This European Standard supersedes EN 1483:1992. This European Standard shaii

14、 be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by August 1999, and conflicting national standars shall be withdrawn at the latest by August 1999. It is identical to the 1992 edition, with the approved Corrigendum EN 1483.199UA

15、C 1996 incorporated (see tolerances on M45 X 3 in Figures 1 to4), but with no other technicai changes. This European Standard has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the European Free Thde Association, and supports essential requirements of Directive 89/68/EEC.

18、lf-contained compressed air breathing apparatus designed as positive pressure breathing appaxatus. This European Standard specifies a thread connection, M 45 X 3, which may optionally be used for facepieces for positive pressure breathing apparatus. This European Standard does not apply to negative

19、pressure breathing apparatus, to closedcircuit breathing apparatus or to diving equipment. 2 Dimensions, designation 2.1 The dimensions shail be as shown in Figures 1 to 5. The connections may not correspond to the pictorial details of Figures 1 to 5. 2.2 Thread connections with an external thread (

20、code PA) on equipment shaii be as shown in Figures 1 and 2. For single duct systems (see Figure 1) the code shall be PAA and for dual duct systems (see Figure 2) the code shall be PAB.
