INCH-POUND A-A-55299 July 1, 1996 COMMERCIAL EM DESCRIPTION LINER, HELMET: PARACHUTIST, IMPACT The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description for all Federal agencies. 1. SCOPE. This commercial item description covers the requirements for

3、 an impact liner for the parachutists to use with the aramid helmet (MIL-H-44099, Helmet, Group Troops and Parachutists) to provide impact protection. 2. CLASSIFICATION. The liner for the FrontBack and Middle shall be in the following sizes: Front/I3 ack Middle SmalVXsml SmallBisml Medium Medium Lar

4、gemge LargeKlge Sizes: 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. The liner shall be 3 individual pads; one is rectangular and the other two are identical v-shaped. The liner is not to have a coating, and shall contain proofing construction in accordance with Figure 1 and 2, and shall contain various marlungs conf

5、orming to drawing to be able to interface with existing aramid helmet (MIL-H-44099, Helmet, Group Troops and Parachutists) see 7.2.1. 3.1 Coating. The liner shall not have a coating. 3.2 Eauivalencies. The material for the liner shall conform to Voltek Company Volara Type A-4pcf; Foam Design/S A Com

6、pany Plastizote LD70; add: “Rogers Foam Corporation, ROV 261A or equal. 3.3 Marking. The markings shall be in accordance with Figure 1 and 2, and shall be applied with a black marking medium. The marking shall be well defined, clearly legible, and shall not show smearing, bleeding, or offsetting. Th

8、6 A-A-55299 3.4 LabeVtag. Each item shall be individually bar-coded with a paper. The paper tag shall be standard bleached sulfate having a basis weight of 100 pounds. The paper used for the tags shall have a smooth finish to accept themal transfer and direct printing. The tags shall have a hole and

9、 shall be attached to each item by a fastener, clearly legible and readable by a scanner. The bar coding element shall be a 13 digit national stock number (NSN). The bar code type shall be a medium to high code density and shall be located so that it is completely visible on the item when it is fold

10、ed and/or packaged as specified and so that it causes no damage to the item. 4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. The offerorkontractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 5. QUALITY ASSUR

11、ANCE PROVISIONS 5.1 Product conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this commercial item description, conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial ma

12、rket. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. to the commercial market or to the Government for at least two years. 5.2 Market acceptance criteria. The item offered, or a generic equivalent, must have been sold 5.3 Warranty. The item offered shall include the standard

13、 warranty given to the commercial market beginning with the date of delivery of the individual items. 5.4 Visual examination. Each liner shall be examined for the defects listed below: 5.4.1 Defects. Any cut, tear, or hole not as specified in Figures 1 and 2; outer edge perforations omitted; any mar

14、kings omitted, incomplete, illegible, or not black; any grease or oil stains; color not as specified; any distorted parts or poor workmanship; any component part omitted; label missing, incorrect, or illegible; measurement of item not as specified; bar code omitted or not readable by scanner; human-

15、readable interpretation (HRI) omitted or illegible; bar code not visible on folded, packaged item; bar code causes damage to the item; any items not packaged in accordance with the contract or purchase order. 5.5 Acceptance criteria. Acceptance criteria shall be as specified in the contract or purch
