Abstract. T

2、his Commercial Item Description covers one type and size of clothing bag. flight crews and other personnel to carry items of personal property while traveling. Salient Characteristics. The design and minimum dimensions of the suitcase shall be as shown on Figure 1. The framework shall be attached to

7、 fastener is opened, the suitcase shall be capable of being laid flat. The outside pockets shall also have this type of slide fastener, one pocket opening on the top, and the other pocket opening on each of the two sides. When opened, the suitcase shall be capable of being hung like a garment bag an

8、d shall be provided with a device capable of doing this. The inside of the suitcase shall have a dust cover capable of covering the length and width of the opened bag. It shall also have a shoe pocket covering the bottom half of the opened bag. The suitcase shall have a hanger fixture capable of hol

9、ding a minimum of three removeable clothes hangers, which shall be included. Material. coated nylon cloth, 11 oz/sq yd minimum weight, sage green in color. The frame, stiffener and retainer shall be vulcanized fiber sheet, 3/16 inch thick 2 1/64. The thread shall be nylon, black in color. The top co

10、ver of the suitcase and the bottom corners shall be black vinyl. The shoe pocket shall be nylon duck, color matching the basic material, 7.25 oz/sq yd minimum weight. The suitcase shall be made of fire resistant*, vinyl * Flame resistance: The test method to be utilized is FED-STD-191 5903. The test

11、 specimen shall be observed for an additional 30 seconds after burn flame turn off: If the tip of the flame passes beyond the top edge of the specimen at any time during the 42 seconds after the burner is turned on, the specimen shall be reported as a test failure. Five specimens shall be tested in

12、the warp direction and the results reported individually as pass“ or “fail“. Label. The suitcase shall have a commercial and a blank, personal identification label. Workmanship. After completion, the finished suitcase shall be thoroughly cleaned, and all foreign matter removed. Product Demonstration

13、 Model. When required, offerers shall submit samples of their intended production. The Product Demonstration Model will consist of units independently developed. Product Demonstration Models will be analyzed and evaluated by the government. Evaluation criteria and basis for award are contained in th

14、e solicitation. Product Demonstration Models will be retained by the government. One (1) Product Demonstration Model approved by DPSC under the resultant contract will serve as a manufacturing standard for the corresponding production items delivered under this contract. Offerers are advised that th

The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Public Law 94-580 to the maximum extent practicable. gualitv Assurance Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics an

17、d the requirements of this commercial item description, and where certificates of compliance are submitted, the government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to the first delivery or to check such items to determine the validity of the certificate. 18、A systems shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of ensuring that all products or supplies submitted to the government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. Examination. Suitcase lots shall be inspected in accordance with “Sampling Procedures and Tables for Ins

19、pection by Attributes“, ANSI/ASQC 21.4, published by the American Society for Quality Control. Visual Examination. The suitcases shall be examined for the defects listed below. The lot size shall be expressed in units of suitcases. The sample unit is one suitcase. Defects. The suitcase shall be exam

20、ine for the following defects: any hole, cut, tear, scratch, blister, crack, abraded area, tacky area, flaking; color not as specified; variation in color or finish between exterior component parts; any spot or stain (outside); thread ends not removed; hardware finish scratched, streaked, peeling, c

21、hipped, blistered; any component part missing, failing to perform as specified, or not as described; any open seam; needle chews; label missing, incorrect, or illegible; measurement of item not as specified. Dimensional Examination. The finished suitcase shall conform to the dimensions specified. An

22、y dimension that is not within the established tolerance shall be classified as a defect. The sample unit shall be one suitcase. Packauina Examination. The fully packaged shipping containers shall be examined in accordance with defects listed below. The lot size shall be the number of shipping conta
