Abstract. The carrier is i

2、ntended for use by members of the Military Police and is used with a leather belt. This CID covers the requirements .for one type of carrier, grommet for a,policemans club, SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS General Description. The Carrier shall consist of a strap 3/4 inch width, 8/64 to 9/64 inch thick, appr

3、oximately 9 inch length looped at both ends. The loops- will consist of a large loop to fit on belt and a small loop with 1-3/4 inch metal O-ring inserted. A metal rivet will Connect both loops. There will also be one rubber Grommet Stopper with 1-3/16 inch inside diameter and 2-5/32 inch outside di

4、ameter. 7、this drawing should be obtained from the procuring activity or as directed by the contracting officer. When inconsistencies exist between the written commercial item description and the figures, the written commercial item description shall govern. Material. The strap shall be made of leather, cattl

8、ehide .(full grain or corrected grain) mildew resistant and treated with a fungicide containing not less than 0.18 percent nor more than 0.70 percent paranitrophenol. The grain side of the leather, shall be black, and have a smooth finish, The edges of the leather strap shall be treated with a non-s

9、taining black finish so as to match the grain side. The metal rivet and cap shall hav a black oxide coating. The metal O-ring shall be black in color. The grommet shall be made of rubber. QUALITY ASSURANCE Product Demonstration Model. When required, offerers shall submit (2) Carriers and Grommets of

10、 their intended production. The Product Demonstration Model will consist of units independently developed. Product Demonstration Models will be analyzed and evaluated by the government. Evaluation criteria and basis for award are contained in the solicitation. Product Demonstration Models will be re

11、tained by the government. One (1) Product Demonstration Model approved by DPSC under the resultant contract will serve as a manufacturing standard for the corresponding production items delivered under this contract. Offerers are advised that the Product Demonstration Model does not relieve the succ

12、essful offerer of his responsibility to perform in accordance with the Commercial Item Description specified above. Certification. The contractor shall certify, and maintain objective quality evidence, that the product offered meets this commercial item description, and that the product conforms to

13、the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. Visual Examination. The inspect

14、ion level shall be II and the AQL expressed in defects per one hundred shall be 4.0 in accordance with ANSI/ASQC 21.4. The Carrier and Grommet shall be examined for the following defects: not specified color; color not uniform; grain side not smooth finished; edge not stained to match grain side; an

16、 A-A-5 5 05 9 or other grain damage; flaky, spongy, pipey or stretchy leather; Any wrinkle; O-ring defective or not securely affixed; rivet not sufficiently set; sharp edge, burr or metal sliver; any non-removable stain or spot. Requlatory Requirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use re

17、covered materials in accordance with Public Law 94-580 to the maximum extent practicable. O PACKAGING Packaqinq, Packinq, Markinq and Palletization. Packaging, packing marking and palletization shall be in accordance with ASTM-D 3951, Standard Practice for Commercial Packaging, as specified for ship

18、ments to the Department of Defense, including section 7. Unitized loads, placing boxes on pallets, shall be used whenever total quantity for shipment to one destination exceeds 250 pounds (excluding the pallet) or 20 cubic feet. Pallets shall have a length of 40 inches and a width of 48 inches. Pall

19、et loads, including the pallet, shall not exceed 54 inches in height, 43 inches in length and 52 inches in width. The containers shall be bonded onto wing type commercial 4-way 0 entry pallets. Prohibited Packinq Materials. The use of asbestos, excelsior, newspaper or shredded paper (all types inclu

20、ding waxed paper, computer paper and similar hygroscopic or non-neutral material) is prohibited.
