20、 input devices, which is an adoption without modification of the identically titled IS0 (International Organization for Standardization) Standard 9241 -9:2000 (first edition, 2000-02-1 5). This IS0 Standard was developed by the IS0 Technical Committee ISO/TC 159 SC 4. It is part of the series of IS0

21、 9241 Standards that address ergonomic requirements for office work with visual display terminals. In conjunction with the adoption of this Standard, CSA is issuing a new edition of CSA Standard 241 2, Guideline on Office Ergonomics. Basic principles and information from the IS0 Standards have been

22、used in the development of this CSA guideline. This Standard was reviewed for Canadian adoption by the CSA Technical Committee on Office Ergonomics under the jurisdiction of the Strategic Steering Committee on Occupational Health and Safety, and has been formally approved by the Technical Committee.

Input device design can have a significant impact on efficiency, effectiveness and satisfaction. The requirements and recommendati

40、ons are based on ergonomic principles. The design requirements and recommendations are intended to address the fifth to ninety-fifth percentile of the population. However, when possible, non-keyboard input devices should be designed to accommodate the anthropometric characteristics of the intended u

41、ser population. It only includes devices for whi

43、ch there exists sufficient published ergonomic information. This part of IS0 9241 applies to several types of non-keyboard input devices designed for stationary use. It provides guidance based on ergonomic factors for the following input devices: mice, pucks, joysticks, trackballs, tablets and overl

44、ays, touch-sensitive screens, styli, and light pens. It gives guidance on the design of these devices used for typical office tasks so that the limitations and capabilities of users are considered. This part of IS0 9241 specifies methods for determining conformance through observation, performance,
