3、Committee. A wide range of cleaning and polishing cloths is in use for different applications. BS 7033 specifies requirements for a limited range of cloths suitable for cleating and polishing applications, and is being published in five Parts as follows: Specification for optical polishing cloths fo
4、r use on transparent plastics panels; Specification for industrial wipers from reclaimed materials, and waste yarn for cleaning and lubricating purposes; Part 3 Specification for floorcloths and dishcloths; Part 4“ Specification for window cleaning cloths; Part 5* Specification for general polishing
5、 cloths. In this Part, requirements are specified for floorcloths and dishcloths. Many properties cannot be specified objectively and cannot therefore be included in this standard. Examples of such properties include colour, handle, appearance and details of additional design features. Public sector
6、 purchasing authorities may be able to supply standard patterns which cover these properties and serve to resolve any ambiguities of description. The standard ohiy covers the basic description of the products and their construction and performance require- ments. Purchasing authorities therefore may
7、 need to include additional information. Part 1 Part 2 Appendix A gives test methods and appendix B gives cross- reference information between the references used in this Part of BS 7033 and NATO stock numbers. Compliance with a British Standard does not of itself confer immunity from legal obligati

10、J 4 5 3 5 BSI BS*7033 PART*3 87 Lb24bb9 OL74bb 2 .m BS 7033 : Part 3 : 1989 Specification I Scope This Part of BS 7033 specifies requirements for floorcloths and for dishcloths, manufactured from woven or knitted fabrics or from nonwovens. NOTE. The titles of the publications referred to in this sta
11、ndard are listed on the inside back cover. 2 Definitions For the purposes of this Part of BS 7033 the following definitions apply. 2.1 batch. A definite quantity of some commodity manufactured or produced under conditions which are presumed uniform. 2.2 dishcloth. A short-life or durable cloth suita
12、ble for washing-up applications and general wet wiping of hard surfaces. 2.3 floorcloth. A durable cloth suitable for wet cleaning of hard floors, or other similar surfaces, by hand or under a mopping tool. 3 Requirements 3.1 General Floorcloths and dishcloths shall be square or rectangular and shal
13、l comply with table 1. NOTE. The raw edges of the cloths should be secured sufficiently to maintain the integrity of the cloths during their projected working life. 3.2 Durability After washing 30 times in accordance with A.9, not more than one specimen shall exhibit surface damage such as holes or
14、tears. 4 Sampling, conditioning and compliance 4.1 Sampling Sampling shall be carried out in such a manner that samples taken are representative of the manufacturing, processing, dyeing or finishing batch from which they are drawn. NOTE. A sufficient number of representative samples shall be taken t
15、o carry out all the tests specified in table 1. 4.2 Conditioning of specimens Specimens shall be conditioned for a minimum of 24 h, and tested in the standard temperate atmosphere for testing of textiles as defined in BS 1051, .e. a relative humidity of 65 f 2 % and a temperature of 20 f 2 C. In the
16、 event of a dispute, samples shall be pre-conditioned for 4 h in a relative humidity not exceeding 10 % at a temperature not greater than 50 OC before being exposed to the standard temperate atmosphere for testing of textiles. 4.3 Compliance In the event of a dispute, if any of the specimens tested
17、do not comply with any requirement of this standard, the tests that the specimens have failed, shall be repeated twice. For this purpose, two further samples shall be taken from the same batch as the original sample, and the same number of specimens as for the original test shall be taken from each
18、sample so that duplicate tests may be conducted. If all the re-test results are in accordance with the require- ments given, the bulk of the cloths that the samples represent shall be deemed to comply with the requirements of this standard. If any of the results of the re-test are not in accordance
19、with the requirements, the bulk of the cloths that the samples represent shall be deemed not to comply with the requirements of this standard. 5 Marking Each package shall bear the following information: (a) the name, trademark, or other means of identification, of the manufacturer; (b) the number a
20、nd date of this British Standard, .e. BS 7033 : Part 3 : 1989* and the appropriate cloth . reference; (c) the month and year of manufacture; (d) the number of cloths per package. NOTE. In addition, each package should bear such other markings as the contract or order may direct. *Marking BS 7033 : P
21、art 3 : 1989 on or in relation to a product represents a manufacturers declaration of conformity, .e. a claim by or on behalf of the manufacturer that the product meets the requirements of the standard. The accuracy of the claim is therefore solely the responsibility of the person making the claim.
