12、 Non-sinusoidal loads 10BS2G196:1971 BSI 12-1999 iii Foreword This revision of BS G 196:1966, has been prepared in the light of current knowledge of the manufacture and use of static invertors for aircraft. Account has been taken of discussion on the preparation of an ISO Recommendation for such inv
13、ertors. The standard is intended to be used in conjunction with the relevant specifications for particular designs of invertor. This British Standard requires reference to the British Standards given below: Various parts and sections of BS 2G 100 or BS 3G 100, “General requirements for equipment in

19、e This British Standard states the general design and test requirements for400Hz static invertors for aircraft. 1.2 Definitions For the purposes of this British Standard the definitions in BS205 2)and the following apply. static invertor a unit in which semiconductor devices are used for deriving al
20、ternating current at a constant voltage and frequency from a direct current supply 1.3 General construction 1.3.1 The design and construction of the invertor shall comply with the relevant requirements of BS3G100-1 3) , and of the relevant invertor specification 1.3.2 Unless otherwise required by th
21、e relevant invertor specification, the design and construction of the invertor shall be such that it is suitable for operation at altitudes up to 18300m (60000ft). (Seealso2.7.) 1.4 Preferred ratings The preferred ratings for the invertors at sea level and at a temperature of + 70 C are as follows.
22、If required by the relevant invertor specification the ratings at temperatures of + 55 C and + 85 C shall be declared. 1.5 Supply characteristics 1.5.1 Unless otherwise required by the relevant invertor specification, the invertor shall be capable of operating over the normal input terminal voltage
23、range specified for Category B equipment in BS2G100-3 4) . 1.5.2 The invertor shall be capable of withstanding and operating under the conditions of transient and overvoltage input indicated by the appropriate curves in BS 2G 100-3 4) . 1.5.3 The invertor shall be capable of operating with a supply
24、at its terminations having a maximum impedance made up of 50mA resistive, and 104H inductive components. The ripple voltage superimposed on a smooth d.c. of this source impedance supply by normal operation of the invertor shall not exceed two volts peak to peak. The manufacturer shall declare if the
