Terminology3.1 DefinitionsTerminology used in this specification is inaccordance with Terminology F 819.3.2 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.2.1 c

7、lampstick, na live line tool having a hand controlwith latching stops at the butt end mechanically connected byan insulating rod to a hook that retracts into a slotted ferrule atthe head end.3.2.1.1 DiscussionClampsticks are used by qualifiedworkers for high-voltage application of hot line clamps, g

8、roundclamps, operation of energized apparatus and the like. Clamp-sticks are sometimes referred to as “shotgun sticks” or “grip allsticks”. Clampsticks are designed to provide insulation to theuser while performing the above operations.3.2.2 design test, na test made on a sample treated asrepresenta

12、ock, na locking means that allows the handcontrol to be positioned and releaseably latched between thesafety stop and rear stop and prevents movement toward thesafety stop.3.2.10 safety stop, na releasable latch that automaticallyand positively engages at partial retract to fully capture adevice.3.2

Materials and Manufacture4.1 Neither the FRP tube and rod, foam filling, or thebonding adhesive shall deteriorate during the prescribed me-chanical and electrical test of this specification.4.2

14、The external surface of the FRP shall be uniform,symmetrical, and free of abrasions, scratches, blemishes, andsurface defects.4.3 Any defect that may capture an impurity or impair thedielectric integrity of the product shall be cause for rejection.1This specification is under the jurisdiction of AST
