Scope*1.1 This specification covers prefaced concrete and ca
3、lciumsilicate masonry units with the exposed-to-view-in-place sur-faces covered at the point of manufacture with resin, resin andinert filler, or cement and inert filler to produce a smoothresinous tile facing. This specification does not address, andtherefore is not applicable to, ground-face concr
4、ete masonryunits that are manufactured by grinding a thin layer off thesurface of a concrete masonry unit to expose aggregates withinand polishing to produce a smooth, architectural finish.1.2 The text of this specification references notes andfootnotes which provide explanatory material. These note
5、s andfootnotes (excluding those in tables and figures) shall not beconsidered as requirements of the standard.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. Materials4.1 Concrete masonry units on which prefaced surfaces aremolded shall meet the requirements of:4.1.1 Specification C55 for Concrete Building Brick.4.1.2 Specification C90 for Loadbearing Concrete MasonryUnits.4.1.3 Specification C129 for Nonloadbearing Units.4.2 Calcium
10、silicate units on which prefaced surfaces aremolded shall meet the requirements of Specification C73 forCalcium Silicate Brick (Sand-Lime Brick).NOTE 1The purchaser of prefaced units should indicate the applicablespecification and the type and grade of unit required. Facing Requirements5.1 Resistance to Crazing, Cracking, or SpallingThereshall be no crazing, cracking, or spalling of the facing materialwhen the unit is tested in accordance with 7.2.1This specification

15、hen viewed without magnification, thereshall be no failure of the adhesion of the facing material to theunit at the time of failure of the entire prefaced unit when testedin compression in accordance with 7.4.5.4 AbrasionThe wear index shall exceed 130 whentested in accordance with 7.5.5.5 Surface B
16、urning CharacteristicsWhen tested in ac-cordance with 7.6, the surfaces of the prefaced units shall havea flame spread classification not greater than 25 withoutevidence of continued progressive combustion and shall have asmoke density rating not greater than 50.5.6 Color, Tint, or TextureColor, tin
17、t, or texture shall be asspecified. When tested in accordance with 7.7 and thencompared with an unexposed unit, there shall be no change intexture, and color differences shall not exceed 5.0 Delta units.5.7 Soiling and CleansabilityThere shall not be a stainvisible when specimens are tested in accor
18、dance with 7.8.1 andthen viewed from a distance of 10 ft (3m) under an illuminationof not less than 50 fc (538.2 lm/m2) by an observer with normalvision. Spotting media shall be observed to be completelyremoved from specimens when tested in accordance with 7.8.2and 7.8.3 and then viewed from a dista
19、nce of 10 ft (3 m) underan illumination of not less than 50 fc (538.2 lm/m2)byanobserver with normal vision.5.8 ReportTest reports shall show the results of testsrequired by 5.1 through 5.7.6. Dimensional Tolerances6.1 Face DimensionThe total variation from specifieddimensions in the finished face d
20、imensions of the units shallnot exceed 6116 in. (1.6 mm) from specified dimensions.6.2 DistortionThe distortion of the plane and edges of theface of individual units from the corresponding plane surfaceand edges of the unit shall not exceed116 in. (1.6 mm).7. Sampling and Testing7.1 The purchaser or
21、 authorized representative shall beaccorded proper facilities to inspect and sample the prefacedunits at the place of manufacture from the lots ready fordelivery.7.2 CrazingResistance to crazing of prefaced units shallbe determined by oven drying from a saturated condition inaccordance with the abso
22、rption testing procedure of TestMethods C140, allowing the specimen to cool to room tem-perature, and resaturating.7.3 Resistance to ChemicalsApply a convenient quantityof the chemicals, as shown in Table 1, one at a time on thefacing material and leave covered with a watchglass for theduration of t
