12、kes precedence. Nothing in this document, i: however, supersedes applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. m 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Material. Materials shall be in accordance with applicable drawings and specifications. 3.2 Metal parts, Metal parts shall comply with

13、 all requirements speoified on drawing 1291 0250 and in applicable specifications. 3.3 Hydrostatic test. The primer body tubing shall withstand 0 the application of a minimum hydrostatic pressure without rupture or indication of flaws, as evidenced by leaks, and without permanent 10,800 psi. If the

14、primer tubing procured for the bodies manufactured in accordance with this specification has been previously subjected to the hydrostatic test specified in this specification, a second hydrostatic test is not required .deformation beyond drawing requirements, when tested to a pressure of 3.4 Corrosi

15、on resistance. Coatings shall show neither corrosion products of zinc nor basis metal visible to the unaided eye at normal reading distance, when tested by exposure to salt spray in accordance with ASTM-B-633. 3.5 Workmanship. All parts shall be fabricated and finished in a thorough, workmanlike man

16、ner. They shall be free of burrs, chips, sharp edges, cracks, unblended radii, surface defects, dirt, grease, rust, corrosion products and other foreign matter. The cleaning method shall not be injurious to any part nor shall the parts be contaminated by the cleaning agent. All required markings sha

Unless otherwise specified in the contract or p

18、urchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements (examinations and tests) as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the aontract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the in

19、spection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in this specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to ensure supplies and services conform to prescribed r equ i r eme n t s. r 4

20、.2 Responsibility for compliance. All items shall meet all requirements of sections 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this 0 specification shall become a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. The absence of any inspection requirements in this specification shall no

21、t relieve the contractor of the responsibility of ensuring that all products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. Sampling inspection, as part of manufacturing operations, is an acceptable practice to ascertain conformance to requiremen

22、ts, however, this does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to accept defective material. 4.3 Inspection equipment. The inspection equipment required to perform the examinations and tests prescribed herein is described in

23、 the “Inspection Method Reference“ column in the tables starting with 4*6.3.1. 4.4 Classification of inspections. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows: a. This test shall be conducted 100 percent on body tubing eithe

37、r before or after cutting to length. Tubing that fails to comply with the requirements shall be removed from production. e 4.6.4.2 Salt spray test. 4.6.4.2.1 Sampling. Random samples of the body and head shall be drawn for salt spray testing in accordance with the following table: (Ref. ASTM-B-602)

Coatings shall show neither Corrosion products of zinc nor basis metal oorrosion products at the end of the test peri

39、od. The appearance of corrosion products (except for white corrosion products at the edges of specimens) visible to the unaided eye at normal reading distance shall be cause for rejection of the sample. (REF. ASTM-B-633). 4.64.2.3 Acceptance criteria - entire lot. Rejection of any samples in excess

40、of the acceptance number shall be cause for rejection of the lot. 4.7 Methods of inspection. 4.7.1 Hydrostatic test. Prior to machining, the primer body tubing shall be tested for not less than five seconds at the minimum hydrostatic pressure of 10,800 psi. Acceptable units shall be marked with an t

41、tHtt. 4.7.2 Salt spray. The body, head, tip, and body metal parts assembly, shall be tested in accordance with ASTM B-117, Salt Spray (Fog) Testing. NOTES (This section contains information of a general or explanatory nature that may be helpful, but is not mandatory.

43、) 6.1 Intended use. The MI28 components in this specification are intended for use in the MI28 Electric Primer. 6.2 Acquisition requirements. Acquisition documents must specify the following: a. Title, number and date of the specification. b. Issue of DODISS to be cited in the solicitation, and if r

44、equired, the specific issue of individual documents referenced. (See 2.1.) 6.3 Submission of inspection equipment designs for approval. See MIL-A-48078.
