12、gy, Test, Tractor, Ventilation 1 Scope 1.1 This part of the S613 standard series defines a performance test for a cab for use in a risk management program in contaminated environments as part of an Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS). This document is intended to be a guide for

13、engineers and field technicians who are responsible for cabs in agricultural applications. 1.2 While this standard provides guidance for use of these systems and defines a way to test the level of protection provided, as defined by the OHSMS. It is expected that other tests may provide cabs that are

14、 as well suited for this purpose; it is up to the user to demonstrate equivalency. 1.3 The S613 standard series is not intended to qualify cabs for use in poison gas or oxygen depleted environments, such as where an oxygen supply respirator is required per the product label and therefore are not cov

19、ed in contaminated environments shall have the cab pressurized per ISO 14269-5, with the exception of the operating conditions, in order to assure the operator is protected during use. The manufacturer shall specify the operating conditions at which the cab can meet this requirement. Following secti

20、ons renumbered due to addition of section 3 maintenance. 5 Particle Counting Test Method for Measuring Cab Integrity This tests the cab to measure the level of air leakage into the cab. When doing this procedure, check the outside of the cab for apparent leaks. 5.1 Replace the inlet filter with a HE

21、PA filter; one that is 99.95% efficient, or equivalent, reference ISO 29463, class 35H. As an option, a better performing filter may be used. 5.2 Remove any recirculation or secondary filters from the system 5.3 Test methods and conditions The testing shall be conducted using particle counters 5.3.1

22、 The cab to be tested shall be mounted on an end use machine 5.3.2 The testing shall be conducted when the background wind is less than 16 km/hr, 5.3.3 Tests shall be conducted when the relative humidity is below 80% 5.3.4 The unit shall be operated with the fan(s) on the specified blower setting pe

23、r the manufacturers instructions in the operators manual and with the engine at rated speed. NOTE: If the cab manufacturers operating condition (fan speed and cab pressure) without the recirculation filter is not met, the recirculation duct may need to be restricted so that the test condition matche

24、s the cab operating specifications. 5.3.5 Two particle counters shall be used, one measuring the concentration outside the cab, Co, at the cab air inlet area, the other measuring the concentration inside the cab, Ci, approximately at the drivers breathing area. The particles to be counted shall rang

25、e from 0.3 to 0.5 m (optical particle size diameter), as operated in test procedure section 6.1.1. NOTE: If problems occur due to a lack of an adequate number of particles in this range it may be necessary to expand the range of particles counted to include more particles in the range; i.e. a range

26、of 0.3 to 1.0 m. 5.3.6 Static resistive sampling tubes from the counters for the inside and outside measurements shall be the same material, inside diameter, and length. 5.3.7 A minimum of four 10-min. tests, after equilibrium has been reached, shall be conducted. 5.3.7.1 The test equipment (particl

27、e counters) measuring source shall be switched between inside and outside measurement after each minimum 5-min. measuring period during each of the above tests. 28、erated at least one minute after start up for each test period to assure the lines are properly purged before any readings are taken. NOTE: The particle counters are switched to assure that any instrument measuring bias is nullified in the results. 5.3.8 Test Particle Concentration 5.3.8.1 Measure t

29、he particle concentration in the ambient air outside the cab, particles in the 0.3 to 0.5 m size range shall be of sufficient concentration so that the reduction factor, 50:1 or as necessary for the application, can be verified; the challenge particles shall be introduced at a level so that the inst

30、ruments are in their optimum operating range, as defined in section 7.2.1. NOTE: Generally at least 20,000 to 30,000 particles per liter are needed for repeatable testing. 5.3.8.2 Particle generation to supplement ambient conditions may be done by using an appropriate particulate generator to create

31、 particles which can be measured. Warning: Some materials may cause allergic type reactions. 5.4 Reduction factor The ratio of the outside concentration to the inside concentration (Co/Ci) is the reduction factor and shall be determined for each test. The four test results shall be averaged. The red

32、uction factor shall be defined by the managed program with a minimum reduction factor of 50:1 recommended for cab use in contaminated environments. If this test shows that desired reduction factor is not reached, the cab is not acceptable for use in contaminated environments and repairs shall be mad

33、e and be retested prior to use. NOTE: If not enough particles are present in the atmosphere to conduct this test conduct this test in an enclosure that isolates the machine from the atmospheric conditions adverse to the test so challenge particles can be introduced into the enclosure (see Section 6.

34、3 for the procedure.) 6 Particle counting test method for measuring cab filtration system performance This tests the entire operator protection system to verify the level of protection provided to the operator. 6.1 Test environment 6.1.1. Testing in ambient conditions The testing shall be conducted

35、using particle counters. 6.1.1.1 The cab to be tested shall be mounted on an end use machine and all filtration components in place. 6.1.1.2 The testing shall be conducted when the background wind is less than 16 km/hr. 6.1.1.3 Tests shall be conducted when the relative humidity is below 80%. 6.1.1.

36、4 The unit shall be operated with the fan(s) on the specified blower setting and pressurization level per the manufacturers instructions in the operators manual and with the engine at rated speed. 6.1.1.5 Two particle counters shall be used, one measuring the concentration outside the cab, Co, at th

43、 Some materials may cause allergic type reactions. 6.3 Testing in an enclosure 6.3.1 The test may be performed in a suitable enclosure, when there is not enough background contaminant in the ambient air, where outside interference such as wind, rain or other weather related phenomenon will not inter

44、fere with the testing. 6.3.1.1 The test enclosure shall have the engine exhaust vented outside if it effects test personnel and/or test results. 6.3.1.2 The test enclosure shall be supplied with suitable air moving equipment so that challenge particles introduced will be mixed with the air in the en

45、closure and a stable concentration of the challenge aerosols is maintained during the tests. 6.3.2 Perform the test as per 6.1.1. 7 Performance criteria 7.1 Reduction factor The ratio of the outside concentration to the inside concentration (Co/Ci) is the reduction factor and shall be determined for

46、 each test. The four test results shall be averaged. The reduction factor shall be defined by the managed program with a minimum reduction factor of 50:1 recommended for cab use in contaminated environments. 7.2 Statistical Verification Statistical analysis shall be used to examine testing validity.

47、 7.2.1 Test for concentration and test equipment The concentration of particles and volume of particle counts sensed shall be such that the loss of particle counts due to coincidence is less than 5%. 49、dence error Criterion: Ni 0.95 Nt If this test is not passed, it indicates that there were too many particles in the test environment to run the test or the test equipment was encountering coincidence. 7.2.2 Test for experimental error The following calculations examine the experimental error and evaluates the acceptance criteria.
