WEBBING, TEXTILE, NYLON, TUBULAR The Parachute Industry Association makes this document available for use by Industry and Government organizations that wish to apply this specification to their products. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specification covers woven nyl
3、on tubular webbing for parachutes. 1.2 Classification. The webbing shall be of the following classes, and the widths shall be as specified in TABLE I (see 6.2). Class 1 - Shuttle loom Class 1a - Shuttle or shuttleless loom 1.2.1 Class reference. Unless otherwise noted (see 6.2), when procurement doc
4、uments referencing this specification do not specify the class of webbing, the requirements for Class 1a webbing shall apply. When Class 1a webbing is specified, Class 1 is an acceptable alternate. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 General. The documents listed in this section are specified in Sections 3

Unless otherwise stated h
18、erein or in the contract, in the event of a conflict between the text of this document and the references cited herein, the text of this document takes precedence. Nothing in this document, however, supersedes applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREM
19、ENTS 3.1 First article. When specified (see 6.2), a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection in accordance with 4.2. 3.2 Standard. The dyed webbing shall match the standard for shade and appearance, unless otherwise indicated, and shall be equal to or better than the standard with respe
20、ct to all characteristics for which the standard is referenced (see 6.1). 3.3 Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials. Recycled, recovered or environmentally preferable materials should be used to the maximum extent possible, provided that the material meets or exceeds the opera
21、tional and maintenance requirements, and promotes economically advantageous life cycle costs. 3.4 Material. 3.4.1 Yarn. The nylon yarn shall be a bright, high tenacity, light and heat resistant polyamide prepared from hexamethylene diamine and adipic acid or its derivatives. It shall have a melting
22、point of 496 16 F (258 9C). The yarn shall not be bleached in any manner or in any subsequent process. 3.4.2 Weave. For shuttle loom construction the weave shall be tubular, plain, one up and one down. Webbing woven with two filling yarns per shed is prohibited. For shuttleless loom construction the
23、 weave shall be tubular, plain (two up and two down with 2 filling yarns per shed). The filling yarn shall traverse the full width of the webbing and shall be held at the edge by an extra catch-cord end (3.7) interlaced with the filling yarn, in accordance with a method shown in FIGURE 1. The final ply of warp yarn shall be as referenced in TABLE 1. The filling yarn for all shuttle loom widths shall be single 840 denier (nominal) except; 5/8, 3/4
