3、s and replaced by GMW14117 and GMW14575. 1. PURPOSE This specification determines test methods and requirements of an ash tray. 2. SCOPE This standard applies to the GMDAT manufactured vehicle (passenger car, MPV) 3. SPECIMEN QUANTITY 3.1. According to test methods, completed products or a part of t

4、he products shall be used for a test sample. Minimum 3 pieces are needed for approval test and minimum 1 piece each for quality examination and incoming inspection. 3.2. For temperature resistance, flame resistance, impact resistance, operation effort, operation durability test and operation power t

5、est, test samples shall be tested equipped to a instrument panel and assembly, and for color fastness a test sample shall be used which is acquired from a flat part of completed products. 4. APPROVAL Glove boxes released to this specification shall be the same as the approved products. If any change

6、s happen to the approved products, GMDAT Technical centers approval is needed. But, test samples for DVP(Design Verification Plan) can be separately discussed. 5. PRE-TREATMENT Unless otherwise specified, the test shall be performed as-delivered without pre-treatment. 6. TEST APPARATUS 6.1. Forced c

7、irculation oven which can keep required temperature at 2.5 K. 6.2. Cold chamber which can keep temperature down at -403 K. 6.3. Hot chamber unit (infrared radiation irradiated chamber) which temperature is controllable from a room temperature up to 150. 6.4. Apparatus for impact resistance test 6.5.

8、 Weather-O-meter (xenon-arc type) described in 5.1 of EDS-T-7415. 9、t exceeded 3 times of operation effort and have accuracy. It can use a tension gage. 6.7. Open/close durability test equipment 6.7.1. Fixture jig 6.7.2. Air cylinder & Control box 7. REQUIREMENT 7.1. Ash trays for a test sample shall show no crazes, cracks or other defects. 7.2. All materials for a

10、ash tray shall be specified in drawings. 7.3. Organically coated plastic ash trays shall meet the detailed requirement of the Table 2 in EDS-T-7041 7.4. Additional requirements other than the specified points in the below test methods and evaluations shall be specified separately in related drawings

11、. 8. TEST METHOD 8.1. Temperature resistance 8.1.1. Under the test conditions in 5.2 of EDS-T-7041(test method of a instrument panel), the test shall be conducted. 8.1.2. After the test, there shall be no foams, wrinkles, changes in color, surface and size etc. 8.2. Self-extinguishment 8.2.1. Conduc

12、t the test with an ash tray mounted on a instrument panel. 8.2.2. Right after lighting a cigarette, put it in the ash tray and close the tray. 8.2.3. Conduct the test on cigarettes, about 50%-burned one and almost burned one. 8.2.4. The cigarette in the ash tray shall be self-extinguished within 3 m

13、in. 8.3. Impact resistance 8.3.1. After placing a ash tray in the cold chamber at -30for 4 hrs according to EDS-T-7503, apply 1 J of impact energy by free falling a steel ball. 8.3.2. After the test, visual check shall show no cracks or breaks. 8.4. Color fastness EDS-T-4102GENERAL REQUIREMENTS OF A

According to EDS-T-7415-B, a test specimen shall be exposed to radiation source. 8.4.2.

15、 Unless otherwise specified in drawings, min. 7 grade of EDS-T-7415-B shall be satisfied. 8.5. Operating effort test 8.5.1. Test method (1) Installation an ashtray test jig same with a vehicle condition. (2) Operate it 10 times before the test (3) Measure an open/close effort use a push-gauge at the

16、 handle part under the load of operate direction load. 8.5.2. Requirement (1) During the initial opening/closing and removal, a ash tray shall operate smoothly without noise, shake or hitch (2) Unless otherwise specified, operating efforts before and after the operation durability test for each type

Opening time Test as follows in case of push-push t

19、ype 8.6.1. Test method (1) Install an ashtray at the test jig same with vehicle condition. (2) Measure an inner cases full opening time. (3) A measuring equipment is used a light fiber sensor speedometer that can measure a time, or stop watch that can measure a 1/100 seconds. (4) Test 5 times and ge

20、t an average of these. (5) The measuring time are 4 times at initial, after normal temperature durability test, after high temperature durability test, after low temperature durability test and measure after test a durability test at each temperature at normal temperature. 8.6.2. Requirement If ther

21、e is no any special restriction on the DWG, the operating time at durability test shall be meet 10.5sec, and it can operate at low temperature(-30). 8.7. Detachment force test 8.7.1. Test method Load the load at push-pull gauge in direction the right angle to stopper plane until to detached stroke.

24、ology 8.8. Operation durability test 8.8.1. Open/Close durability (1) Test method Unless otherwise specified, making opening/closing 1 cycle, the test shall be conducted at a speed of 4 cycles/1 min in the following order. 25、00 (2) Requirement After the test under each temperature condition, there shall be no breaks, noise, abrasion, problems with opening/closing, and shakes. 8.8.2. Removal durability test (1) Test method Unless otherwise specified, making the removal of a ash tray 1 cycle, the test shall be conducted a

26、t a speed of 4 cycles/1 min in the following order. Operation powe

27、r test Drawer/Slide type of a ash tray shall be tested for the following items. 8.9.1. Drawer / Slide Type (1) Test method 1) Setting an ash tray at open 2) There shall be met the following requirement when applying minimum 10 Kgf of load to the direction P (Horizontal direction), and minimum 5 Kgf

28、of load to the direction W (Vertical direction) using a Push-Pull Gauge. See Fig 3 (2) Requirement No removal and permanent deformation of an ash tray shall be shown.
