SCOPE The purpose of this document is to h
3、armonize VIEQ requirements within Ford Motor Company, and to document guidelines pertaining to certain materials with regards to Odor, Fogging and the emission of Formaldehyde and Volatile Organic Carbon Compounds (VOCs). In addition, the requirements for allergy testing of materials which have dire
4、ct skin contact with the vehicle occupants and requirements for exterior air filtration are included. There is debate among the scientific community regarding potential health effects including allergies to the substances listed as well as acceptable exposure level. Ford adopts these guidelines to b
5、e consistent, to the extent practicable, with third party standard setting organizations such as ISO, SAE, DIN, and EN but does NOT represent them to be a definitive measure of safety. 2. APPLICATION The requirements established by this Standard apply to all products supplied to Ford and assembled i
6、nto the cabin space and/or air conditioning system. They apply equally to Tier 1 Suppliers, Full Service Suppliers, Proprietary (black box), and Ford-specified items. References to “Ford“ within this document shall be understood to include any Ford designated vehicle platforms. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 S
7、TANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Materials suppliers and part producers must conform to Companys Standard Requirements for Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). Materials suppliers and part producers must conform to Companys Standard Requirements for Restricted Substance Management Sta
8、ndard (WSS-M99P9999-A1). 3.1.1 The primary intent of this Standard is to control emissions from materials and formed articles used in the passenger cabin, load space and air filtration system. Conformance to these requirements must be completed prior to supply of product to Ford. 3.1.2 All materials
9、, parts and components should be stored in an open environment for 14-28 days after manufacture, and then must be bagged in heat sealed polyethylene (PE) or PE coated aluminium bags for shipping. All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/-
10、2 C and 50+/-5% relative humidity, for not less than 24 hours prior to testing, and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Sample size shall be min. 3x DIN A4 sheets or min. 250g for D1 and min. 4x DIN A4 sheets or min. 400g for D1 Sample size for fabrics and leathers sh
12、all be min. 1 m. 3.1.3 Only the darkest color of hard & soft trim need to be tested if the resin grade is the same. The darkest color of paint, unless the paint technology is different, ie solvent, water,1K, 2K. Fabric, leather or vinyl used in seat covers should be tested in the darkest color. Exce
13、ption for textiles- the color used for textile construction approval is acceptable. Component must be retested if the manufacturing location changes from the original approval. 3.1.4 Form in Appendix 1 should be used to record results of D1 testing, respectively, which will be used for eFDVS complia
14、nce. It is the Tier One Suppliers responsibility to conduct this testing by PEC and submit the data to Ford. 3.1.5 See Appendix 5 for a list of capable laboratories that can conduct the tests required in this specification. This is not a complete list. 3.2 COMPONENT REQUIREMENTS Components listed in
15、 Appendix 2 must meet odor, formaldehyde, fogging, volatile organic carbon compound and substances of concern emission requirements. With the exception of NVH materials, sealers and waxes, the tests below are required for all materials which exceed 100 g or 100 cm2 in the vehicle interior. Appendix
