SCOPEThe ma terial described herein is a round butyl tape sealer. This type oftape seale

APPLICATIONThi s specification was released originally as a material for use inconjun ction with mechanical retention to seal RIM and PVC modular windowsto pai nted sheet metal. The material should be conditioned at 23 +/- 2 Cfor 24 h prior to application and sho
3、uld be applied on clean substrates.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStand ard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedtherein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to a
4、nalyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/ortherma l analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermogr
5、ams established for i nitial approval shallconst itute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material laboratory. All samples sha ll produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDITIONING AND TEST
6、CONDITIONSAll test values indicated herein are based on ma terial conditioned ina control led atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relativehumidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under thesame conditions unless otherwise specified.3.4 DIMENSIONS As specified on theengineering

The tape is pressed to pro duce 50 % compress
11、ionfor 1 minute and released (see Figure 1). 13、st Method: Yield cel ls are prepared using RIM, per 5.4.1, PVC per5.4.2, painted metal pe r 5.4.3 and 5.4.4 and two 7 mm diameter by 75mm long ta pes. See Figure 2. To assemble, press the cells for 1minute at 50 % compress ion. Condition the cells as specified above.Determine the yield strength of t
14、he bonded assemblies in tension bypull ing in a tensile machine with a jaw separation rate of 25 mm/minut e. The RIM/PVC must be securely bonded to another metal baseplate by adhesive to eliminate any bending. Report peak load andfailure mode.3.11 HEAT RESISTANCENo flow, blistering, or degradation o
15、f butyl.Test Method: Place a 7 mm diameter x 100 mm lon g tape strip on a 100x 300 mm painted panel, as per para 5.3.4. Pass a 2 kg roller overthe release paper side of the tape once in each direction. Remove there lease paper and hang the panel vertically in an air circulatingoven at 120 +/- 2 C fo
16、r 30 minutes.3.12 PAINT COMPATIBILITYNo evidence of migration stain, pinholing, blist ering or softening ofthe paint film.Test Method: A 150 mm length of tape shall be p laced in contact witha 100 x 300 mm painted panel, as per para 5.3.4 and 5.3.5. Expose theassembly to a temperature of 90 +/- 2 C
