19、his standard establishes rules for the design and calculation of welded static, vertical, non-pressurized, cylindrical, flat-bottom thermoplastic tanks. This standard applies to tanks fabricated in the following thermoplastics: Polyethylene (PE) Polypropylene (PP) Poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC) Poly (v

20、inylidene fluoride) (PVDF) This standard does not take into account wind and/or snow loading.lf wind or/and snow loading has to be taken into account additional calculations are necessary. This standard is applicable to tanks in which the cylindrical shell is made of welded plates or a wound cylinde

21、r or an extruded pipe. The calculation takes into account short-term and long-term active pressures as well as the hydrostatic loading. The following values are long-term pressures and represent the limiting values: Overpressure: 0,000 5 N/mm2 (0,005 bar) Low pressure: 0,000 3 N/mm2 (0,003 bar) This

22、 standard is only applicable to tanks which are not intended to withstand internal pressure or vacuum, other than that which may occur during the transfer of fluids (including gases) in their normal operation. 39、ions of a tank. The cylinder and base components shall be designed using the average temperature of the contentsT. The roof component shall be designed using the average of the two neighbouring air temperatures. The air temperature in the tank is assumed to be TM. The surrounding air temperature TA

40、for indoor installation is assumed to be 20 OC. Figure 5 indicates the temperature zones. The temperature of the roof shall be calculated according to equation (i). 41、f the effective temperatures 6 Cylinder dimensions 6.1 General The tank cylinders within the scope of this calculation method are either single layered (see 6.2.1) or multilayered (see 6.2.2). The wall thickness shall be determined by the ring tensile stress resulting from the contents and overpress

42、ure at the lower edge of the cylinder. The minimum wall thickness shall be at least 4 mm. In the case of cylinders made from sheets, the appropriate long-term welding factor shall be used in the calculation of aal. according to EN 1778. Prerequiste for the calculation and the design of the tanks is,

The minimum thickness for the equivalent cylinder bottom band results from the calculation of the ring tensile stress according to equation (9). The buckling coefficient A shall be calculated in accordance with equation (10).
