2、 The requirements for acquiring the product described herein shall consist of this specification sheet and MIL-DTL-43719. REQUIREMENTS: Materials. Symbols shall be cut from elastomeric marking materials, liner, and when specified in the contract or order, translucent transfer sheet, all conforming t

3、o requirements specified in MIL-DTL-43719. Ink. Where required for pictorial or other designs on a symbol marker, the ink or inks used shall be compatible with the specified marking material and with each other. When tested as specified herein, the ink-coated marking materials shall meet the perform

4、ance requirements of the general specification. Ink colors shall be as shown on the drawing or as specified in the contract or order. Design and construction. Shall be as specified herein or as specified in the contract or order. Options shall be as specified in the contract or order. Drawings. The

5、following symbols shall be of the design and construction shown in applicable drawings or descriptions: Symbol Applicable Drawing or Description Star See “Army Star” description Red Cross See “Red Cross” description Description. Army Star. The star shall have 5 points with tips uniformly spaced in a

6、 circle. The star shall be regular in shape, i.e., the sides of the points shall lie in the straight lines joining alternate tips. The star shall consist of release liner, elastomeric marking material, and translucent transfer sheet. The size of the star shall be as specified in the contract or orde

7、r in terms of the diameter, in inches, of the imaginary circle passing through all five tips of the star. The color shall be gloss white, color No. 17875, lusterless white, color No. 37875 or lusterless black, color No. 37038, as specified in the contract or order. Red Cross. Shall consist of releas

8、e liner, elastomeric marking material (square) with a Red Cross screened thereon, and translucent transfer sheet. The Red Cross shall be screened on in gloss red, color No. 11136, or in lusterless red, color No. 31136 on a field of the marking material in gloss white, color No. 17875 or lusterless w

9、hite, color No. 37875, respectively, as specified in the contract or order. For a 3 inch Red Cross, the marker field shall be 4 inches square and other sizes shall be proportional. The ink or inks to be applied on the symbol face shall be coated on a sample of the marking material to be used in the symbol marker, using the same type of application procedure. The sample of

11、material shall be of sufficient size for conduct of all the tests of the general specification, which shall then be conducted when the inked sample is thoroughly dry. Ordering data. Procurement documents should specify the following in addition to the ordering data listed in the general specificatio

12、n: (a) Symbol to be procured. (b) Size required. (c) Applicable drawing or description (see design and construction). Changes from previous issue.
