20、d) and two attachment collars from the kickback fixture. (It might be necessary to adjust the length of the existing rotational axles.) Install the GKU in the kickback machine in accordance with Figures F.4 and F.5 and adjust the unit laterally such that the tip of the guide bar aligns with the cent
21、reline of the MDF specimen.F.3.2 Balancing the GKU in the kickback fixtureIt is necessary to balance the GKU after it has been installed in the kickback fixture. Balance the GKU as follows without the electric extension cord or any other cords attached:(a) Balance in the vertical orientation in acco
22、rdance with Figure F.4. Ensure that the counterbalance weights are located at approximately the same location on each adjustment arm. After vertical balance has been achieved, retighten the four locking knobs.(b) Balance in the horizontal orientation in accordance with Figure F.5. After horizontal b
23、alance has been achieved, indicated by the lateral line drawn on the side of the bar being level and stable, retighten the bolts that were loosened in this step. Ensure that the indicator marks on each side of the unit are approximately in the same position and that the bar tip remains in the centre
24、 of the MDF coupon. The GKU is capable of achieving acceptable balance without the addition of external weights. Acceptable initial balance is achieved when the cradle will not rotate at the horizontal or vertical position or when a 60 g (0.13 lb) weight hung from the rotary pulley will counter any
