Scope1.1 This is a material specification covering hybrid geosyn-thetic paving mats typically used for, but not limite
3、d to, use injoint and localized (spot) pavement repairs; and paving matsintended for curb-to-curb coverage to provide a moisturebarrier for the pavement structure and retard reflective crackingin bituminous overlays. They are typically non-woven inconstruction. This is a material purchasing specific
4、ation anddesign review of use is recommended.1.2 This is not a construction or design specification. Thisspecification is based on hybrid geosynthetic paving matsurvivability from installation stresses. The values stated in SIunits are to be regarded as the standard.1.3 For purposes of determining c
5、onformance to this speci-fication, values for length or area shall be rounded to thenearest 0.1 m or 0.1 m2, respectively. Values for mass shall berounded to the nearest gram, and for force to the nearestNewton, and volume to the nearest 0.01 L, in accordance withthe rounding method in Practice E29.

11、2 Definition of Term Specific to This Standard:3.2.1 hybrid geosynthetic paving mat, na planar productmanufactured from primarily inorganic materials used as anintegral part of a man-made project, structure, or system. It isprimarily intended for, but not limited to bituminous pavingapplications.4.
12、Classification4.1 TypeFive types of hybrid geosynthetic paving matsare covered in this specification as follows:4.1.1 Type IA single layer non-woven paving mat of 136g/m2unit weight intended for curb-to-curb repaving of bitu-minous or Portland cement concrete pavements with hot mixasphaltic concrete
13、 meeting the requirements of Table 1.4.1.2 Type IIxA uniaxial high-strength hybrid geosyn-thetic paving mat consisting of a Type I mat plus reinforcementstrands in the machine direction. The reinforcement strandsshall be attached onto the base paving mat, and the inorganicfabric shall meet the physi
14、cal properties requirements of Table1. This material is intended for localized or spot repairs duringthe repaving of bituminous or Portland cement concretepavements with hot mix asphalt concrete.1This specification is under the jurisdiction of ASTM Committee D35 onGeosynthetics and is the direct res

Thereinforcement strands shall be attached onto the base pavingmat, and the inorganic fabric shall meet the phys

Recommended Personal Protective Equipment6.1 Respiratory ProtectionA properly fitted NIOSH ap-proved disposable N 95 series dust respirator such as the 3Mmodel 8210 (model 8271 in high humidity environments) orequivalent should be used under the following conditions:6.1.1 Any dusty environment.
