On these specially made bracelets are the words “Cell Phone Ninja“. The brac
10、elets are actually part of an experiment carried out by Chongqing Three Gorges University that challenges students not to use cell phones in class for 21 days. Each student who volunteered to participate received a bracelet. Before the first class and after the last class of each day, students were
11、instructed to upload a photo of their bracelet to the schools public WeChat account if they did not use their cell phones. Over 800 students signed up for the experiment and 400 were selected to participate. After seven days, only 103 students remained. The experiment was set for 21 days because of
12、a claim in psychology that 21 days is the length of time required to form any habit. According to the teachers monitoring the activity, there were no rewards or punishments in the experiment. It depended on students themselves to make the decision. Teachers hoped students could form better study hab
13、its through activities like this one. According to a new poll which was conducted for Common Sense Media, 50 percent of teens feel they are addicted to their mobile devices. A larger number of parents, 59 percent, said their teens were addicted. The poll involved 1,240 interviews with parents and th

Qiao had suffered from depression prior to his suicide, leading many citizens to reflect on the widespread natu
18、re of depression in China. Cases of severe depression among college students have become more common over the last decade, according to a new study that backs up what mental health professionals at university counseling centers have been saying for years. Students have also become increasingly impul
19、sive, more often attempt to injure themselves, and more likely to be diagnosed with more than one mental disorder. The study, conducted at a university campus in the Northeastern region of China, indicates that there are currently some 90 million people including college students living with depress
20、ion in China, but less than 10 percent of them get treatment for their illness. Universities have begun to offer counseling years ago. Participants were examined for mental disorders, their thoughts of suicide and injuring themselves and thoughts of injuring others. “ Between 1998 and 2009, the numb
