UnlessintendedfordirectconnectiontotheTEorNT,interfacecablesshallbeterminatedinjacksasspecified below.Thejackmayhavefour,sixor

19、eightcontacts.Aswiththeplug,thenumberofcontactsrequiredisdependent ontheuseofpoweringandshieldcontinuityoptions. PlugsforuseinISDNprimaryrateapplicationsshallconformtothedimensionsspecifiedin4.2.Physicalcontacts 3,6,7and8areshownforillustrativepurposesinthereferencedfiguresandmaybeomittedfromtheconn

20、ector assemblyifnotrequired. 4.2Keying requirements Thespecified8contactconnectorsmaybeequippedwithkeyingfeaturesinaccordancewithnationalrequirements asspecifiedin4.2.2.Otherwise,therequirementsspecifiedin4.2.1apply. Whenprocuringequipmentinternationallythatwillusethe8contactconnectors,theusershalls

21、pecifythekeying featuresinaccordancewithnationalrequirements. 4.2.1Nonkeyed connector TheconnectorspecifiedinthisoptionhasthedimensionsoftheconnectorspecifiedinISO/IEC8877(ISDNbasic access),withnoadditionalprovisionsforkeying. Theconnectordimensionsnecessarytoensurematingoftheplugswithjacks(seenote1

22、)arespecifiedinclause4 ofISO/IEC8877. NOTE RecommendationsfortheavoidanceofrisksofdamagethroughinadvertentcrossconnectiontobasicaccessTEs orNTsaregiveninannexD. 4.2.2Keyed connector TheconnectorspecifiedinthisoptionhasthesamebasicdimensionsastheconnectorspecifiedinISO/IEC8877, butcontainsadditionalk
