Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established hasthe right to be represented on that committee. Inter

23、ractories. The descriptions of the terms are what is generally understood within therefractories industry and are not absolute definitions.In order to reflect current expert technical opinion, the sources used have been the most up to date documents ei-ther published or under development. Many of th

24、ese have been European documents issued by Technical Com-mittee 187 of the Comit Europen de Normalisation (CEN/TC 187), most of which have been based on, or derivedfrom, existing ISO Standards.Descriptions sourced from standards are worded as closely as possible to that appearing in the standards wi

25、thinthe editorial requirements of ISO 1024113.However, the descriptions have been compared with the following documents, and in a few cases modified, to en-sure completeness:BS 3446-129; BS 3446-230; BS 3446-331; ASTM C71-0027; Dodd and Murfin32.Further modifications have been made where necessary t

26、o remove conflict between descriptions. Where significantmodifications have been made, a note appears after the term to the effect that the description has been adaptedfrom a particular standard.In addition, terms have been included which appear in standards and are themselves specific to refractori

27、es, orwhich assist in the understanding of refractory standards.
