9、or use with Direct Current (DC) Microgrid systems and Article712 of the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA-70.1.2 These requirements are intended to be used in conjunction with the requirements in the Standard forMolded-Case Circuit Breakers, Molded-Case Switches and Circuit-Breaker Enclosures, UL
10、489, hereafterreferred to as UL 489, except as modified or supplemented by this Outline.2 Components2.1 Except as indicated in 2.2, a component of a product covered by this Outline shall comply with therequirements for that component.2.2 A component is not required to comply with a specific requirem
11、ent that:a) Involves a feature or characteristic not required in the application of the component in theproduct covered by this Outline; orb) Is superseded by a requirement in this Outline.2.3 A component shall be used in accordance with its rating established for the intended conditions ofuse.2.4 S
12、pecific components are incomplete in construction features or restricted in performance capabilities.Such components are intended for use only under limited conditions, such as certain temperatures notexceeding specified limits, and shall be used only under those specific conditions.3 Units of Measu

15、lded-casecircuit breaker intended to operate in a DC microgrid system to provide branch circuit overcurrentprotection.5.3 DIRECT CURRENT (DC) MICROGRID CIRCUIT-BREAKER ENCLOSURE A circuit-breakerenclosure intended for use in a DC microgrid system.5.4 DIRECT CURRENT (DC) MICROGRID MOLDED-CASE SWITCH
16、A molded-case switch intendedto operate in a DC microgrid system to provide disconnecting means.MOLDED-CASE CIRCUIT BREAKERSCONSTRUCTION6 General6.1 The construction of a DC microgrid circuit breaker shall comply with the requirements as specified inSection 6.1 of UL 489, except as noted in 6.2 of t
17、his Outline as applicable.6.2 DC microgrid circuit breakers shall be considered as single poles for individual sources or loads thatmay use multiple sets of contacts in series, unless marked in accordance with 9.1.4.8 of UL 489. See also7.1.1.12 of UL 489.PERFORMANCE7 General7.1 The representative d
18、evice selection shall be as specified in Table 7.1. 20、line and load in accordance with 11.8, X- andY-Sequence tests shall be conducted with the device wired in the normal (forward) direction. TheInterrupting Tests shall be conducted in both the forward and reverse directions. The Calibration andTrip-out Tests may be conducted in any convenient directio
21、n.7.4 When a DC microgrid circuit breaker is not marked line and load in accordance with 11.8, forSequences X and Y, one sample of the sample set, or an additional sample for each test set, shall beprovided and tested with opposing line and load connections than that required in 7.3. When only onesa
22、mple constitutes a set, a second sample is required for opposing line-load connection tests.Exception: A circuit breaker that is required to be wired in series such that the same number of poles(contacts) are exposed to the current in both directions simultaneously, testing in both the forward andre
23、verse direction is not required.7.5 When a DC microgrid circuit breaker has interchangeable trip units, one sample of the frame andthree samples of the trip unit shall constitute a set.7.6 For the purposes of this Outline, testing in the forward direction requires the positive terminal of thesource
24、to be connected to the ON (top) end line terminal of the device. Wiring in the reverse directionrequires the positive terminal of the source to be wired to the OFF (bottom) end load terminal of thedevice.7.7 Each pole of a multipole DC microgrid circuit breaker shall be tested individually unless ma
