Scope1.1 PurposeThis SAE Recommended Practice recommends test methods, test procedures, and specific testparameters to help verify that vehicles and test tools can communicate using the SAE J1850. This documentonly verifies the portion of SAE J1850 that is used for OBD-II communications. The term
14、“test tool” issynonymous with OBD-II Scan tool.1.2 ApplicationThe procedures, methods, and parameters contained in this document apply to vehicles andtest tools which support OBD-II messages, as outlined in SAE J1979.
