The tapes shidl conform to the following types, classes, styles and sizes,2.1 Type I, Complete assembly.Class A - Black background with natural steel graduations.Class B - Dull chromium plated background wit

3、h black graduations.Style 1- Inch graduations,a71Style 2- Metric graduations.Style 3- Inch on one side, metric on the other.Size 1- l/4-inch tape width.Size 2- 5/16 inch tape width.Size 3- 3/8-inch tape width.2.2. Surveyor tape assemblies shall consist of a reel, with attached handle and a drum. Thetape is held in place in the frame by a spindle to which, a winding arm is attached. It shall be p

7、ossible to oremove the tape from the drum without the use of special tools.-v REELTape measuring, steel surveyors. (Straight handle.)3.1.1 . The reel frame shall be of a corrosion resistant metal built to withstand hard use. The reel shallconsist of two sides held apart by spacers approximately 3/8

8、inch long, permanently secured in place.3.1.2 Straight handle. When specified, the handle shall be of enameled or polished hardwood, or durableplastic and of ample size to insure a firm hold. The handle shall be fastened to the reel frame by an axial rodthrough the entire length of the handle.3.1.3

9、D-Handle. When specified, the handle shall be of enameled or polished hardwood, or durable plasticand of ample size to insure a firm hold. The handle bracket shall be made of corrosion resistant metal andformed in the shape of a D. The handle assembly shall be riveted or welded to the frame. oThe D-

10、style handle shall be similar to the figure below.t“fjAA*. ,.,:3.1.4 Drum The drum shall be constructed of corrosion resjstant metal and have a minimum diameter of1-3/8=s.3.1.5 Windirw arm. The length of the winding arm shall be suitable to fit the length of the tape specified andshall have proper c

11、learance when the tape as wound on the reel. The winding arm shall be capable of beingfolded over, and when folded over, shall engage the reel frame locking the tape. The winding arm shall befitted with a large finger knob for speed and ease of winding.3.1.6 Spindle. The spindle shall be constructed

12、 so that it will rotate freely in the reel frame when the windingarm is turned and shall cause the drum to rotate without coming in contact with the reel frame.3.2 Tapes. The tape ribbon shall be of tempered spring steel. Unless otherwise specified, the tapes shall begraduated for reading left hand

13、to right hand. Unless otherwise specified, the tape shall be fhrnished withtwo end loops and two leather thongs. Each leather thong shall beat least 20 inches in length. If specified,two removable finger rings shall be supplied in lieu of the end loops and leather thongs. The graduationaccuracy shal

14、l be determined by direct comparison to a measured standard calibrated on a continuing basisand directly aceable to NIST standards.3.2.1 Lemzth. Feet, tenths, and hun conform to the suppliers own drawings, specifications, standards and quality assurancepractices, the same produc

16、t offered for sale in the commercial market. The government reserves the fight torequire proof of such conformance.5.2 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified, the supplier is responsible for the performancea71of all inspection requirements and may use any commercial facilities (in

17、cluding the suppliers own facilities)suitable for performance of the inspection requirements, unless disapproved by the Government.
