This standard is used to evaluate the electrostatic properties of an automobile textile by either measurement of surface resistance or
3、 measurement of the materials ability to resist accumulation of static charge. 1.2 Foreword. Not applicable. 1.2.1 Summary of Test Method. 1.2.1.1 Method A - Electrostatic Resistance. Two (2) electrodes are placed onto the surface of the test specimen. A known voltage is applied to the disc electrod
4、e and the surface resistance is measured by the ring electrode. 1.2.1.2 Method B Electrostatic Charging. After rubbing the electrically neutralized test specimen(s) with standard cloths in a prescribed manner, the resulting static charge (voltage) is measured. 1.3 Applicability. This standard is app

Note: Method B should be performed only on fabrics with anti-static treatment. 3.2.1 Method A Electrostatic Resistance (see Figure A1). 3.2.1.1 Power Supply capable of producing a steady direct voltage with the following characteristics: x Operating Voltage: (100 5) V 3.2.1.2 A high

See Figure A1 or for additional reference see ICE 93, Section 7 with the set-up illust
9、rated in Figure A2 (e.g. Measuring Electrode ID-Nr. 301 300, Fetronic GmbH, Ursulaweg 91, D-40748 Langenfeld). 3.2.1.3.1 Ring Electrode. (3 0.1) mm thick metal ring with an inner diameter of (69.2 0.05) mm and an outer diameter of (89 0.05) mm. 3.2.1.3.2 Disc Electrode. (3 0.1) mm thick metal disc w
10、ith a diameter of (50.4 0.05) mm. 3.2.1.3.3 Insulating Layer: Layer of insulation between the electrodes and the shielding plates. 3.2.1.3.4 Metallic Shielding Plate. Metal plates above the insulating layers. 3.2.1.4 Metallic base plate (12 /+1) mm thick, diameter (110 /+2) mm with a layer of insula
11、ting material having a maximum thickness of 1 mm Polytetraflouroethylene (PTFE) or equivalent insulating characteristics. 3.2.1.5 Cylinder of insulating material large enough to support the metallic base plate. x Plexiglas or equivalent. 3.2.1.6 Apparatus for conditioning to the appropriate temperat
12、ure and humidity requirements of (20 2) C and (50 5) % relative humidity for 24 h minimum. 3.2.2 Method B Electrostatic Charging (see Figure A3). 3.2.2.1 Static Charge Measuring Device. Consisting of a mechanism which rotates a drum at (400 10) min-1 having four equally spaced nodes, to one of which
13、 the test specimen is attached. At one point of the revolution, the sample is rubbed across a standard test fabric and, at another point of the revolution; the sample is brought by an electrode. The electrode is connected to an amplifier to boost the charge. Equipment satisfying this description can
14、 be purchased from: Daiei Kagaku Seiki Seisakusho, Okazaki Tokunari-cho 15-8, Sakyo-ku, Kyoto-shi, Japan 606 3.2.2.2 Oscilloscope or recorder. Used to record the amplified charge. 3.2.2.3 Static Eliminator any device capable of discharging a stored static charge on the surface of the test specimens.
15、 3.2.3 Apparatus for conditioning to the appropriate temperature and humidity requirements of (20 2) C and (40 2) % relative humidity. 3.2.4 Suitable cutting tools for preparation of test specimens. 3.3 Test Vehicle/Test Piece. 3.3.1 Method A Electrostatic Resistance. 3.3.2 Method B Electrostatic Ch
16、arging. 3.3.2.1 Cotton and Wool Standard Fabrics. Ten (10) (25 /-3) mm x (150 5) mm pieces of each one are required. The width of the standard fabrics shall be trimmed so that the final width is less than the width of the opening of the sample holder. All standard fabric specimens shall be cut with
17、the longer dimension taken from the warp direction. 3.3.2.1.1 White Cotton Standard Fabric. The white cotton standard fabric (known as “Kanakin 3”) is a plain flat woven made with 20 textile cotton thread in the warp direction (141 threads per 5 cm) and 16 textile cotton threads in the fill directio
18、n (135 threads per 5 cm) having a weight of (100 1) g/m2. 3.3.2.1.2 White Wool Standard Fabric. The white wool standard fabric (known as “Mosurin”) is a plain flat woven made with 19 textile worsted yarn in the warp direction (142 threads per 5 cm) and 15 textile worsted yarn in the fill direction (
19、136 threads per 5 cm) having a weight of (102 1) g/m2. 3.3.2.1.3 Notes. The two standard fabrics can be purchased, by the names “Kanakin 3” and “Mosurin”, from Japan Standards Association, 4 Chome 1-24, Alaska, Minato-ku,Tokyo-to, Japan 107-8440. If other standard fabric material is used, that infor
20、mation shall be included in the test report. These specifications have been taken from JIS L0803. 3.3.2.1.4 Double-Faced Tape. Not applicable. 3.6 Personnel/Skills. Not applicable. 4 Procedure 4.1 Preparation. 4.1.1 M
22、ethod A Electrostatic Resistance. 4.1.1.1 Conditioning. Surface resistance is particularly sensitive to temperature changes. It is therefore necessary to measure the surface resistivity of the test specimen immediately after conditioning it under the specified conditions of (20 2) C and (50 5) % rel
23、ative humidity for a minimum of 24 h. The test can be conducted under the same conditions or immediately upon removal from those conditions. 4.1.1.2 A minimum of three (3) (120 5) mm x (120 5) mm minimum test specimens shall be cut from various areas of the test material. The test specimens shall be
24、 parallel to thread directions of the material. 4.1.2 Method B Electrostatic Charging. 4.1.2.1 Dry the test specimens and standard fabric for (60 5) minutes at (+70 3) C then condition at (+20 2) C and (40 2) % relative humidity for a minimum of 24 h.
