6、 16647:2015) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 46 “Fireplaces for liquid fuels” (Secretariat: DIN, Germany). The responsible German body involved in its preparation was DIN-Normenausschuss Heiz-, Koch- und Wrmgert (DIN Standards Committee Heating and Cooking Equipment), Working Committ

7、ee NA 040-03-02 AA Dekorative Ethanolgerte. This document covers the same technical content as DIN 4734-1:2011-01 and replaces that standard. Amendments This standard differs from DIN 4734-1:2011-01 as follows: a) title and scope of the standard have been extended from “ethanol” to “alcohol”; b) the

8、 standard now applies to appliances with a maximum power output of 4,5 kW (formerly a maximum fuel throughput of 0,5 l/h was specified); c) some editorial amendments, including a structural adaptation, have been made; d) a stress test has been included (5.5); e) the determination of the fuel consump

9、tion (5.8.3) has been revised; f) additional tests and requirements for autoignition (5.8.5), extinguishing the flame (5.8.6), electronic devices (5.8.10) and labelling (5.9) have been included; g) testing of combustion performance and the maximum ratings (5.8.7) have been harmonized with the requir

10、ements of the World Health Organization (WHO) and rendered more precise; h) a normative Annex B “Guidelines for the safety of electronically controlled alcohol-powered flueless fireplaces” has been added. Compared with DIN EN 16647:2015-12, the following correction has been made in the German versio

11、n: a) in Subclause 5.8.4, 7th paragraph, 1st sentence, the maximum CO volume of all exhaust gases excluding air and water vapour measured within a 10 min period has been changed to 0,2 %. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorseme

DIN EN 16647:2016-04 EN 16647:2015 (E) 5 1 Scope This European Standard applies for

32、 decorative fireplaces/appliances for domestic use, producing a flame using alcohol, hereafter referred to as fuel, in liquid or gelatinous fuel for decoration. NOTE 1 The requirements are strictly applied even when used in other areas. Outside the private household and outdoor area can apply more o

33、r different rules on the use of the appliances. This European Standard applies to free-standing, wall-mounted and built-in appliances with a maximum power output of 4,5 kW. This European Standard applies for appliances ready for use, whose burner is of one unit or are an integral component of the ap

34、pliances but not for appliances with a fuel tank separate from the appliance. This European Standard does not apply for appliances specifically designed for heating food or keeping food warm (rechauds), as well as for appliances for use in boats, caravans, other vehicles or outdoor areas. This Europ

35、ean Standard does not apply for appliances with a power output higher than 4,5 kW or with a defined heating function. 49、e produced in such a way as to: rule out any kind of permanent deformations or other damages on the appliance after testing; withstand any tensions occurring during normal use; facilitate being operated safely. The use of decorative elements e.g. imitation wood, pebbles in the flame area are not permitted.
