The use of type CLP lubricating oils is r

9、ecommended in particular for circulation and splash lubrication in cases where the requirements for the anti-wear protection in the mixed friction zone are higher. Type CLP lubricating oils can also be used as hydraulic oils and general purpose lubricating oils or engine oils. The use of type CLP lu

10、bricating oils is recommended in cases where high loads necessitate increased anti-wear protection in the mixed friction zone for the friction points and/or where surface damage such as scuffing in severe exposure conditions is to be prevented. In respect of the Note to Clause 5 of this standard, ty

11、pe CLP lubricating oils are suitable for many of the applications specified in ISO 6743-6. DIN 51517-3:2014-02 9 Annex A (normative) Read-across guidelines for the application to different ISO viscosity grades (ISO VG) The read-across guidelines shall specify which properties listed in Table A.1 (minimum requirements) are to be dete

40、rmined explicitly for the different ISO viscosity grades (ISO VG) of this standard and where an extrapolation/interpolation (read-across) is permitted. Depending on the respective property, a read-across may be permitted or not. If a read-across is permitted, Table A.1 specifies which ISO VG is to b

41、e tested. In principle, this may be the lowest, the highest or the best-selling ISO VG of a lubricating oil series. Table A.1 shows the read-across procedure. Read-across according to Table A.1 is only applicable within a homologous series of lubricants of different ISO viscosity grades (ISO VG). Lu

42、bricants of a homologous series within the meaning of this definition are made up of base stock combinations of the same base stock types. Variations of the base stock components shall only be admissible within the respective API group. The addition of additives to a homologous series within the mea

43、ning of this definition shall be identical for all ISO VG classes. As a departure from this, only quantitative adjustments of the foam and pour point depressant additives used shall be admissible. Identical components within the meaning of this definition are base stocks and additives that have been

44、 manufactured or bought by the lubricants manufacturer in accordance with identical specifications and registered under identical CAS or REACH numbers. In the case of identical components originating from different sources or batches, it is the lubricant manufacturers responsibility to ensure equal

45、performance by suitable quality assurance measures and to document it.
