7、ACE/21 and is one of a series for textiles of a quality suitable for aerospace purposes. It is a revision of BS3F124:1991 which is withdrawn. This edition brings the standard up to date and introduces values for maximum masses for the aerospace textiles covered by the standard. A British Standard do

10、dard specifies requirements for woven nylon6.6 narrow fabrics for aerospace purposes, in which the basic yarns are nominally940dtex. 2 Normative references This standard incorporates, by dated or undated reference, provisions from other publications. For dated references, only the edition cited applies; any subsequent amendments to or revisions of the cited publication apply to BSF124 only when incorporated in the reference by amendment or revision. 12、ted references, the latest edition of the cited publication applies, together with any amendments. 3 Information and requirements to be agreed and to be documented The purchaser shall state in his contract or order: a) the number of this British Standard (i.e.BS4F124); b) fabric designation (as quot

13、ed in the relevant tables of this standard); c) the type of weave required (see6.2); d) the condition required (see7.1); e) if required dyed, the colour (see7.2.1). 4 General requirements In addition to the requirements specified in clauses5 to9, those requirements and tests of thelatest edition of

14、BSF100 which are listed inTable 1 shall apply. 5 Yarn 5.1 The fabric shall be manufactured from bright, continuous filament, nylon6.6 yarn. 5.2 The nominal construction of the yarn shall be in accordance withTable 2. 5.3 The tolerance on the twist shall be 20%. The tolerance on the number of filamen

15、ts shall be5%. 5.4 The direction of first-line twist in all fabric designations shall be either all S or all Z. The second-line twist shall be in the opposite direction. There shall not be different first-line twist directions in the fabric. 6 Construction 6.1 The fabric in the finished state shall

16、conform to the requirements given inTable 3. 6.2 The fabric shall be woven on one of the following: a) a shuttle loom; b) a shuttleless loom where this is in accordance with the appropriate yarn designation as given inTable 2 (see also6.3). NOTEThe type of weaving required should be specified in the

17、 purchasers contract or order (seeclause3), but for supply against this British Standard the two types of weaving are considered to be technically equivalent and either may be supplied. 29、less construction shall not be used unlessthe appropriate yarn designation as given inTable 2 is required. If such a yarn is required, the shuttleless construction shall be with spool type interlocking in the body of the fabric. (SeeFigure 1 for guidance.) 6.4 Binding yarns where specified shall be

30、equally spaced across the width of the webbing. 6.5 Selvedge yarns where specified shall be divided evenly between the edges. Where there is an uneven number of selvedge yarns the difference between the number in each edge shall not exceed one. Figure 1 Shuttleless construction with spool type inter

31、locking Figure 2 Weave diagram for webbing No. 244BS4F124:1996 BSI 11-1999 5 7 Finish 7.1 Condition of material The fabric shall be supplied in one of the following conditions: a) scoured; b) scoured and dyed; c) scoured and polyurethane treated (see7.3); d) scoured, dyed and polyurethane treated (s

32、ee7.3). NOTE 1This British Standard does not permit the supply of loomstate fabric. NOTE 2The condition required should be stated in the purchasers contract or order (seeclause3). 7.2 Dyeing 7.2.1 Where dyeing is required, the colour shall be specified by reference to a British Standard, e.g.BS381C,

33、 or otherwise by pattern. NOTEThe colour required should be stated in the purchasers contract or order (seeclause3). 7.2.2 Fabric 627S shall be dyed using a continuous pad/steam technique. 7.3 Polyurethane treatment 7.3.1 Polyurethane treatment shall only be applied to fabrics 161S and 229S. 7.3.2 T

34、hese fabrics shall be impregnated with an aqueous emulsion of polyurethane. NOTEAs an alternative to dyeing for7.1 d), a pigment paste can be incorporated in the aqueous emulsion which readily disperses to give the fabric surface an evenly distributed shade of the colour specified. 8 Properties 8.1

35、Fabrics in the finished state shall conform to8.2 andTable 3. Polyurethane finished fabrics shall conform toTable 4. 8.2 The dimensional stability of heat set fabrics as supplied shall be such that the lengthways shrinkage shall not exceed2% in boiling water. 9 Identification The fabric shall be ide

36、ntified for ordering purposesby the number of this British Standard, i.e. BS4F124 1) , together with the appropriate designation and, if required dyed, the colour. NOTEThis identification may be codified. For example, fabric designation 229S, required dyed NATO green, may be identified as BS4F124/22

37、9S/BS381C/285. 40、 weigh. A.2 Immerse the specimen in distilled or deionized water at a depth of approximately200mm. After30min remove the specimen, shake vigorously to remove the surplus water and reweigh.
