Scope1.1 This specification covers materials, structural design,physical dimensions and manufacturing requirements formonolithic
3、or sectional corrugated high density polyethylene(HDPE) water quality units with volumes greater than or equalto 140 ft3or 1,050 gal (4,000 L).1.2 The corrugated HDPE water quality units are placed asoffline or inline treatment devices along storm drain pipe linesto remove total suspended solids (TS
4、S), heavy metals andphosphorous. Typical sources of pollutants include construc-tion activity, automotive transportation related wear and debrisitems, refuse, landscaping debris, agricultural activities, andother similar by-products.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas stan
5、dard. The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are provided for information onlyand are not considered standard.1.4 This specification covers horizontally laid corrugatedHDPE water quality units as illustrated in Fig. 1.1.5 The following safety hazard caveat perta

11、ening, na hole in the top or crown of thewater quality unit for access to the interior for inspection,cleaning and removing of sediment, hydrocarbons, floatingdebris, and pollutants without personnel entry.3.4 baffle, na device at the inlet of the water quality unitthat extends partially between the
12、 top and invert intended todeflect influent downward and increase the length of the flowpath of the liquid as it travels through the water quality unit.3.5 bypass, nan optional external piping intended toconvey storm flow in excess of the treatment flow rate beyondthe water quality unit.3.6 Compartm
13、ent, na separate and distinct section of thewater quality unit designated for specific contaminant removal.3.7 first flush, nthe first half inch to one inch of rainfallwhich results in overland flow during a storm event or asrequired by the regional water quality regulatory agency.1This specificatio

21、ained, and treated and from which the liquideffluent, which is comparatively free from settleable, sus-pended, and floating solids, is then discharged to a public stormsewer, water detention / retention structure, or publicly ownedwaterway.3.18 weir, na partition across the width of the waterquality

Ordering Information4.1 The owner shall include the following information inbidding documents and on the purchase order, as applicable tothe units being ordered:4.1.1 Reference to this specification, and dat
23、e of issue.4.1.2 Quantity or number of water quality units.4.1.3 Capacity of the tank in ft3or gal (L).4.1.4 Project conditions such as peak storm flow rate,bypass diameter and associated piping elevations.4.1.5 Acceptance will be based on a review of the calcula-tions or testing submittals.4.1.6 De
24、sign requirements such as depth of earth cover, liveload applied at the surface, ground water level and jointrequirements for bypass pipe.4.1.7 Testing for water leakage shall not be required at thejob site unless specifically required by the owner at the time ofordering.5.
